Abstract:
A device for drying or steaming stacked wood in a treatment room (2), which is accessible from at least one side for introducing and/or removing the wood stacks (1), particularly via a charging door (3), and which has at least one holding unit (4) for securing the wood stacks (1) in their particular positions against unacceptable inclinations. In order to provide advantageous construction conditions, it is suggested that the holding unit (4) be mounted on a ceiling construction (5) of the treatment room (2) and be displaceable from a rest position (R), which releases the charging room (8) of the treatment room (2) for at least one wood stack (1) at a time, into a securing position (S), which secures the wood stack(s) (1) in its/their position.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for completely drying polished nails without any smudging or nicking The method utilizes first warm air and then very cold air preferably followed by a brief return to warm air. The apparatus for performing the method includes a temperature controller for setting the temperature and timers for controlling the duration of each heating and cooling period. By means of an air heater and a cooler connected to a temperature controller, heats and cools the air which is forced upon the nails by a motor and fan.
Abstract:
An apparatus for the drying of aggregate and aggregate-binder mixtures includes a housing containing a fan within a housing that pulls air through various materials held in a drying sieve, or multiple drying sieves, and then exhausts the air to the ambient environment. The apparatus is particularly useful in determining the saturated surface dry state of materials which is an important factor in various testing procedures. The apparatus may include activation means, such as switches and controls, and may incorporate weight sensors to aid in determining the drying state of the material. Various input, output, memory, and display functions are provided to allow calculations and display of observed and calculated indicia.
Abstract:
A Rigid Dryer Duct Adapter, facilitating the connection of an exhaust system to a domestic clothes dryer in confined areas. The system comprising a flexible aluminised duct connected to a damper permanently installed through an exterior wall directing moist airflow out of a home. One end of the rigid dryer duct adapter is connected to the exhaust pipe behind the dryer, its opposite end inserted into the flexible aluminised duct and held in place with a tie wrap. A broom handle threaded at one end is screwed vertically into a special plastic attachment, which is an integral part of the rigid dryer duct adapter. A person standing, bending forward, looking behind the machine from the side can easily connect the rigid dryer duct adapter to the exhaust pipe. Once the adapter connected, unscrew and remove the broom handle then push the dryer back to its proper position.
Abstract:
An air shower for removing a particle from an object by blowing an air to the object. The air shower includes an outlet for discharging the air from the outlet toward the object so that a flow axis of the air flowing out of the outlet is swung frequently and alternately, and an inner wall which extends from an outer periphery of the outlet in a radial direction of the outlet.
Abstract:
A shirt-smoothing device includes a lower part and an inflatable body fixed thereon. Because the inflatable body must be at least the same size as the shirt to be smoothed, the device has considerable height, however, the rigid components in the area of the inflatable body are lowerable to handle the device more easily and, more particularly, to stow it away easily. An internally disposed supporting frame and a button strip tensioner disposed in front of the inflatable body can be lowered after use into the lower part, whereby the inflatable body, which is exclusively connected to the supporting frame at the top becomes folded. The same applies to flexible inflatable support bodied and support nets disposed between the inflatable body and the supporting frame. The storage space required for the shirt smoothing device can be substantially reduced by the invention and the handling and storage thereof simplified.
Abstract:
A cooling grate for bulk material, having a carrying plate (2) for accommodating a layer (8) of the material for cooling, and having conveying elements by means of which the material for cooling (8) is conveyed in a conveying direction (81) on the resting carrying plate (2) and which comprise pushers (5), which are arranged in a movable manner on that side of the carrying plate (2) which is subjected to the action of material for cooling (8), and a drive (3), which is arranged on the other side of the carrying plate (2) and is intended for executing a lifting movement (9), each pusher (5) being assigned an opening (22) in the carrying plate (2) and a transmission member (4), which is guided thereby and connects the pusher (5) to the drive (3), it being the case that the carrying plate (2) is provided, at the openings (22), with in each case one collar (23), which at least at the front and rear, as seen in the conveying direction (81), has a seal (7) acting between the transmission member (4) and collar (23).
Abstract:
Treatment apparatus and a process for thermal desorption of hydrocarbon contaminants from excavated soil provides efficient contaminant removal by handling the soil in a thermally conductive treatment vessel that fits within an insulated treatment chamber. The soil is treated in this chamber with fresh air that is dried and electrically heated prior to contacting the treatment vessel. The dry air passes through the soil and the air mixed with contaminants is withdrawn from the chamber through piping in the treatment vessel. Excavating the soil directly into the treatment vessel allows the treated soil to be returned to the final disposition site in the same vessel, minimizing soil handling.
Abstract:
There is provided a drier which can shorten drying time of an article to be dried to greatly reduce the amount of energy consumption. A refrigerant circuit is disposed, which is constituted by sequentially installing and connecting a compressor, a gas cooler, an expansion valve and an evaporator in an annular shape. A blower is disposed, which circulates air in a drying chamber to exchange heat with the gas cooler and the evaporator. Moisture contained in the air which dries the article contained in the drying chamber is condensed to be discarded by the evaporator.
