    Abstract: Embodiments provide a combustion structure that can achieve stable combustion by addressing the aforementioned drawbacks in the prior art such as low flam stability, backfire, deflagration, blockage and/or any other drawbacks. The combustion chamber structure in accordance with the disclosure can include: a grate structure including a first set of elongated components, a fire retention structure including a second set of elongated components. The first set of first elongated components can be arranged along an axial direction within the combustion chamber structure. The second set of elongated components can be arranged along the axial direction in a same direction as the first elongated components. The second set of elongated components can be configured to generate a negative pressure zone within the combustion chamber. The first set of elongated components can form apertures that can be aligned with apertures formed by the second set of elongated components.

    Abstract: A "package-type" boiler fired by pulverized coal that is adapted to be constructed and assembled in a shop then shipped as a completed unit to a given plant site. The boiler is provided with tube walls extending between longitudinally disposed drums that simultaneously provide optimum heat transfer along with internal support. The walls are bent to a configuration that imparts to the boiler a hopper-shaped bottom wall on opposite sides of an elongate throat through which solid products of combustion may be discharged.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method of operating a steam generator tube bank are disclosed in which a water drum of a typical steam drum/water drum combination is replaced with a plurality of smaller readers to permit the use of rapping, or mechanical rappers, to clean the tubes extending between the steam drum and the headers. The steam generator tube bank of the present invention comprises a steam drum or collecting header, a plurality of headers extending below the steam drum, and a plurality of tubes extending between the steam drum and the headers and placing the steam drum and headers in fluid flow communication. The headers are sized to permit debris or deposits which accumulate on the tubes to be removed by rapping the headers, thereby inducing vibration of the headers and the tubes. The tubes are arranged in rows, and the headers are arranged to form rows of axially-aligned pairs of headers. A mechanical rapper is associated with each header to periodically strike the header and induce vibration of the header and tubes connected thereto to remove debris and deposits which may have accumulated on the tubes.
