    Abstract: A drywall fastening button device may be provided that utilizes a retention button portion having an upper lip, a button portion and a retaining wall. The retaining wall may surround the button portion and the upper lip may be disposed at a top terminal end of the retaining wall. The retention button portion may utilize a nail element portion having a shaft portion, a plurality of back hooks and a pointed tip end. The shaft portion may extend from the retention button portion. The plurality of back hooks may extend outward from the shaft portion. The pointed tip end may be disposed at a bottom terminal end of the nail element portion.

    Abstract: A fastener with increased grip strength is provided. Specifically, the fastener can include a head on a first end, a point on a second end opposite from the first end, and a shank in between the head and the point. A plurality of first deformations can be provided each including a first frustoconical portion and a first transition portion. One or more flutes can further be provided that extends from the point through the plurality of the first deformations forming one or more continuous helices. A plurality of second deformations can also be provided each including a second frustoconical portion and a second transition portion. The second deformations can be structurally similar to the first deformations, but having their orientations flipped 180 degrees. The fastener can also include one or more weld spaces for a collated configuration.

    Abstract: Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a nail with a head having an inwardly curved top surface. In one embodiment, the nail has a longitudinal axis and comprises a head, a shank, and a tip. The head includes a top portion and a bottom portion. The top portion includes an inwardly curved top surface forming a partially spherical cavity, while the bottom portion includes a radially inwardly tapered annular bottom surface. The shank is integrally connected to and extends from the bottom portion of the head. The tip is integrally connected to and extends from the shank and terminates in a free end.

    Abstract: A barbed staple for installing fencing wire onto a fence post. The staple has a crown section and a leg section. The crown section has an arcuate crown portion and a radiused portion, and the leg section has a pair of leg portions that extend in parallel from the radiused portion of the crown section. At least one barb protrudes from each of the leg portions, the barb having projecting points. The distance between the distal edge of the projecting points defines an outer leg width. The crown portion of the crown section has a greater width than the pair of leg portions in parallel. The outer crown width is greater than the outer leg width.

    Abstract: A construction nailing screw is configured to be used in like manner as traditional nails but rotate during driving through threading, providing retention of the construction nailing screw in the construction material(s), and the ability to be removed from the construction material(s) by reverse rotation. The construction nailing screw is characterized by a shank with a head on one longitudinal end, and a tip on another longitudinal end, with external threading that provides minimal friction during installation and mild resistance during removal, and two cutouts extending along the exterior of the shank and through the external threading. The head allows both a manual installation tool and an automatic installation tool to strike the head and drive (install) the nailing screw. The external threading has an upper side with a high pitch relative to the longitudinal axis of the shank, and a lower side with a low pitch relative to the longitudinal axis of the shank.

    Abstract: A plural tapered fastener with a material receiving inward region. Fastener embodiments have particular utility in penetrating and securing work pieces of high density material, such as medium density fiberboard and high density fiberboard, without blemishing of the workpiece. A fastener may have a head and a shank extending from the head with an axis being defined by the shank and head. A head projection extends from a proximal end to a distal end away from the axis. A tapered portion is provided in the shank which tapers the shank axially inward to the head to define a material-receiving tapered inward region. A further tapered portion is provided along a lower leading edge of the head projection. During fastener driving, the inward region receives displaced workpiece material and the tapered head projection better penetrates the workpiece providing for more complete fastener driving with minimized blemishing of the workpiece.
