    摘要: A method of completing a wellbore having a branch wellbore extending outwardly from a window in a parent wellbore comprises positioning a tubular string in the window, wherein the positioning comprises deflecting the tubular string from the parent wellbore into the branch wellbore. The method also comprises providing a particulate barrier outside and against the tubular string proximate the window, the particulate barrier substantially excluding transport of particulate matter from the branch wellbore into the parent wellbore outside of the tubular string through the window. The method also comprises the tubular string passing fluid into the tubular string proximate the window from a formation proximate to the window while substantially excluding transport of particulate matter from the formation proximate to the window into the tubular string.

    摘要: A hydrocarbon production apparatus comprises an injection well, perforated casing, hydrocarbon viscosity reducing fluid injection tubing, a first wellbore restrictor, and a production well. The injection well is bored above the production well within a hydrocarbon reservoir below a ground surface. The injection well comprises a heel end and a toe end. The perforated casing is positioned along a length of the injection well. The hydrocarbon viscosity reducing fluid injection tubing is disposed within the injection well and has a hydrocarbon viscosity reducing fluid injection end. The first wellbore restrictor is transversely disposed within the perforated casing to control hydrocarbon viscosity reducing fluid flow along the injection well, the first wellbore restrictor being spaced closer to the toe end of the injection well than the hydrocarbon viscosity reducing fluid injection end of the hydrocarbon viscosity reducing fluid injection tubing is to the toe end. The first wellbore restrictor is movable through the injection well under control from the ground surface. This apparatus allows the propagation of, for example, the steam chamber in a steam assisted gravity drainage operation to be precisely controllable and adjustable, in order to more efficiently produce hydrocarbons from the hydrocarbon reservoir.

    摘要: A well completion, and method for recovering heavy hydrocarbons or bitumen from a subterranean formation. The completion includes a well liner which lies in a generally horizontal disposition within a hydrocarbon holding substrate to define the main or primary well. A secondary well which extends to the surface intersects the main well to communicate therewith. Said secondary well includes means to conduct a stream of hot stimulating fluid into the main well. A fluid impervious barrier or flow diverter means positioned within the main well between the injection end and the production end, establishes a pressure differential across the barrier. The barrier urges stimulating agent into the substrate at a desired location, thereby creating a heated path along which the bitumen emulsion flows toward the well's production end. Means is provided in the secondary well to position the impervious barrier from one end of the main well to the other.

    摘要: A method of designing an optimized seawater pumping apparatus, using a computer in a system in which a seawater pumping apparatus including a pumping pipe and a well disposed to surround a lateral surface of a land-buried portion of the pumping pipe is installed to reduce seawater intrusion in a land in which an aquifer with a seawater-fresh water boundary surface is formed, includes applying an optimization algorithm to initial condition data of the aquifer to generate n decision variable sets of the seawater pumping apparatus, applying an underground water flow model to each of the n decision variable sets to generate n prediction results of change in the seawater-fresh water boundary surface, calculating a performance evaluation value of each of the n prediction results, and selecting a decision variable set having a maximum performance evaluation value, where n is an integer and equal to or greater than 2.

    摘要: A multilateral access system for a multilateral well including a main well bore and at least one lateral well bore includes a tubular workstring having an inner string and an outer string. The outer string includes a diverter body having a cylindrical housing with a lateral window, the diverter body being shaped and dimensioned to direct the inner string the lateral window and into the at least one lateral well bore. The system is used by positioning the tubular workstring within a multilateral bore. The method further includes positioning the diverter body such that the window of the diverter body faces a milled casing window of the lateral well bore and moving the inner string upwardly above the diverter body. Subsequently, the inner string is lowered back though the diverter body, wherein the diverter body exerts a lateral force on a lower end of the inner string urging the lower end of the inner string toward the milled casing window.
