Abstract:
An adhesive promoter, an organic silicon encapsulant composition, and an organic silicon encapsulant are provided. The adhesive promoter used for the organic silicon encapsulant is formed from a borosiloxane polymer represented by a general formula of: (R1R22SiO1/2)x(R2R3SiO2/2)y(R3SiO3/2)z(SiO4/2)i(BO(3-k)/2)j(OR4)k. R1 is a hydrogen atom or a C2-C6 alkenyl group. R2 and R4 are respectively a C1-C6 alkyl group. R3 is a C6-C12 aromatic group. In the general formula, x, y, z, i, j, and k represent a molar ratio. In the general formula, x, y, z, i, and j are a non-negative number smaller than or equal to 1, and k is a positive number ≤3. A sum of x, y, z, and i is 1, and x is larger than 0.
Abstract:
Disclosed in this specification is a method for forming a silicone hydrogel material that is useful for forming contact lens materials. The method includes using an effective amount of a borate additive to reduce the gel time of the silicone hydrogel reactive mixture and/or enhance the optical properties of the resulting cured material.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel methods for the salt-free polymerisation of borosilylamines, which comprise the structural feature Si—N—B and borosilyl hydrocarbons, which comprise the structural feature Si—X—B, wherein X may be a methylene group or a hydrocarbon chain CxHy or a cyclic hydrocarbon unit, by reaction thereof with disilazanes R3Si—NR—SiR3.
Abstract:
A linear polymer comprising carborane, siloxane, and acetylene units, which may be cross-linked to a cured polymer and/or pyrolyzed to a ceramic.
Abstract:
A novel organoboron polymer and its method of preparation is claimed. The organoboron polymer has a backbone having a repeating unit comprising at least one carboranyl group, at least two acetylenic groups, and one or more silyl or siloxanyl groups.
Abstract:
Novel class of organoboron thermosetting polymer and ceramics that are fod from an organoboron polymer having a backbone with a repeating of at least one alkynyl group, at least one silyl group, at least one boranyl group, optionally at least one siloxyl group, and optionally an aryldisilyl group. The boron containing units in and the silicon containing units can be arranged in either random occurrences between each other or in the form of interdispersed block-type structures of each unit. The thermosetting polymers are useful as high temperature, oxidatively stable thermosetting plastics and for microelectronic applications.
Abstract:
Copolymers are formed from aromatic acetylenic monomers, or prepolymers fed therefrom, and carborane-(siloxane or silane)-unsaturated hydrocarbon polymers. These copolymers can be used as is to form useful articles, adhesives, matrix materials, and coatings for various marine and aerospace applications, or may be pyrolyzed to form carbon-ceramic composites.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a new class of novel inorganic-organic hybrid polymers that are formed from linear inorganic-organic hybrid polymers of varying molecular weight. These new high temperature oxidatively stable thermosetting polymers are formed from linear polymeric materials having repeat units that contain at least one alkynyl group for cross-linking purposes and at least one bis(silyl or siloxanyl)carboranyl group. These novel organoboron thermoset polymers contain an unsaturated cross-linked hydrocarbon moiety.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of preparing boron modified hydropolysilazane polymers. The method comprises reacting a hydropolysilazane polymer with borane for a time sufficient to form the boron modified hydropolysilazane polymer. The invention also relates to the novel polymers produced by the above process.
