In some embodiments of the invention, the closure is rotatably mounted on the container body, and has a dispensing opening in the closure base wall for selective registry with the dispensing opening in the top wall of the container body. Detent elements are provided on the closure and container body for selectively locking the closure in open and closed positions. In alternative embodiments, the closure includes a flip-top hinged to the base wall, with a plug extending therefrom for selectively opening and closing the dispensing opening in the container body top wall.

The interior of the drain tube has a double diaphragm which seals the drain tube, as well as an elastic gas bellows for dispensing liquid portions by alternating deformation of the diaphragm disks of the double diaphragm, which acts as a one-way valve. Such deformation is the result of pressure conditions which change when the gas bellows is compressed and then again released. The dispenser drain attachment is assembled from only two one-piece structural parts, each of which is produced by a two-component injection molding procedure.

The control valve is a one piece plastic moulding having a diaphragm portion and a nose portion. A valve for dispensing the fluid contents of a container such that external contaminants such as dust, air or microbes cannot enter the container even after repeated dispensing cycles. The valve comprises a plug-type valve and an elastomeric sheath type valve such as a flapper valve, slit valve, or duck bill valve. All are one-way devices. The plug is provided with a mechanism for resetting it to the closed position at the end of each delivery cycle such that the plug is a one-way device also. The mechanism can be an elastomeric tether, gravity, or the deformation of a valve part. The plug can be provided with channels or other cut or shaped features, e.g. grooves, to facilitate fluid flow. The container used with this invention must be volumetrically reducible and thereby maintain its own internal pressure at the end of a delivery cycle. Alternatively, the valve of the present invention can be made without the outlet valve i.e., the flapper, slit, or duck bill valve. In this case, the plug is the only one-way valve mechanism.

The support has a central tubular conduit, a pushbutton axially slidably mounted on the support between a rest position and an active position and a product outlet conduit. An intermediate piece of a resiliently deformable material is between the support and the pushbutton. The intermediate piece and the pushbutton define a measured quantity chamber for the product. The intermediate piece has an opening for communication between the tubular conduit of the support and the measured quantity chamber, and sealingly bears against at least one opening for passage between the measured quantity chamber and the outlet conduit of the pushbutton.
