摘要： A first retainer engages with an exterior side of an interior wall member to retain a lamp unit on an interior side of the interior wall member. A second retainer engages with an exterior side of a panel body to retain the interior wall member, on which the lamp unit is mounted, on an interior side of the panel body. The second retainer includes a flexible arm having a free end portion which is flexible in a first direction parallel with the panel body and a second direction perpendicular to the panel body. The free end portion is abutted against the exterior side of the panel body when the interior wall member is mounted on the panel body. A regulator prevents the free end portion of the flexible arm from being flexed more than a predetermined amount in the second direction when the flexible arm is not flexed in the first direction.

摘要： In a vehicle ceiling-mounting electric equipment assembly of the invention, an FPC (12) is welded by heat to a casing (11) of a lamp unit (2), and an FFC (16) for external connection is electrically connected to the FPC (12) by press-clamping or welding. Switches (13) and lamp socket holes (14a) are provided at the FPC (12). An end portion of the FPC (12) is folded to be inserted into a fitting portion (11a) of a recess-shape in which an optional member (26) can be mounted, and a circuit pattern is exposed to a side surface of the fitting portion (11a) to form a connection portion. Therefore, the compact, lightweight design can be achieved, and parts, such as a connector, are unnecessary, thus reducing the number of the component parts.

摘要： A lighting system for preferentially illuminating the seating area of a mass-transit vehicle includes a light fixture with a lamp housing longitudinally disposed above the seating area An electrically energized light source is mounted at least one end of the light fixture. At least one solid-core semi-rigid light pipe extends from and is optically coupled to the light source. The light pipe receives light from the light source, transmits the light along its length, and emits the light laterally into the passenger compartment. The light pipe runs parallel to and is suspended from the lamp housing between the lamp housing and the seating area so that the lamp housing can direct laterally emitted light from the pipe into the seating area.

摘要： A method of illuminating a region outside a vehicle, and a system for accomplishing the method, the method consisting of the steps of: receiving a signal from outside of the vehicle; activating, in response to the receiving the signal, at least one lamp within the vehicle; and illuminating, in response to the activating of the at least one lamp, the region outside the vehicle. The illumination is at least 180 degrees around the vehicle and includes projecting light from the at least one lamp within the vehicle to the region outside the vehicle. In variations of this embodiment, the illuminating includes intermittently illuminating the at least one lamp by projecting light in a flashing manner from the at least one lamp within the vehicle to the region outside the vehicle.

摘要： An interior lighting system for an automotive vehicle has an upper group of lights mounted in the vehicle interior, a lower group of lights mounted in the vehicle interior, and a switch mounted in the vehicle interior. The switch is movable between the dome position in which both the upper and lower groups of lights are illuminated, a dim position in which both the upper and lower groups of lights are illuminated between a maximum and a minimum intensity, a floor position in which only the lower lights are illuminated, and an off position in which neither the upper nor the lower group of lights are illuminated. The lower group of lights are illuminated when the switch is in the floor position after a door-ajar condition is sensed and the vehicle is moving at a predetermined velocity. Additionally, when the switch is in the dim position, the upper and lower groups of lights are illuminated only when a door-ajar condition is sensed and the vehicle is moving at a predetermined velocity.

摘要： A light tilting apparatus usable with an extendable light. In one embodiment, a mobile lighting system includes a tiltable light assembly mounted to an extendable tower on a trailer. The tiltable light assembly includes one or more lights fixedly mounted to a tilting member pivotably mounted to the extendable tower. A linkage operably connected to the tilting member at one end has a catch on a distal end. A linkage regulator attached to the extendable tower has a guide portion for the linkage to pass through as the extendable tower is extended and retracted. The linkage regulator is configured to engage the catch on the distal end of the linkage when the extendable tower reaches a preselected extension position restricting further motion of the linkage in the direction of tower extension. The linkage causes the tilting member to pivot and rotate the lights downward with continued extension of the extendable tower past the preselected extension position. Retraction of the extendable tower back to the preselected extension position, accordingly, results in causing rotation of the lights upwardly.
