    摘要: A pressure containment device enables the installation of an everting liner without requiring a shipping container that can be pressurized. A pressure housing provides an inlet for receiving the liner and an outlet for installing the liner into the borehole. First and second movable belts have first and second sealing surfaces, respectively, for receiving the liner at the inlet of the pressure housing, and first and second interior surfaces for urging the first and second sealing surfaces against the liner when the pressure housing is pressurized. First rollers support the first and second movable belts within the pressure housing.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus for making straight fuel cell tubes are disclosed. Extruded tubes comprising powders of fuel cell material and a solvent are dried by rotating the extruded tubes. The rotation process provides uniform circumferential drying which results in uniform linear shrinkage of the tubes. The resultant dried tubes are very straight, thereby eliminating subsequent straightening steps required with conventional processes. The method is particularly useful for forming inner air electrode tubes of solid oxide fuel cells.

    摘要: A ceramic material is prepared which has a favorable combination of high density, and elevated modulus of elasticity and thermal shock resistance as measured by the ability to withstand temperature changes of at least 300° C. The ceramic material is prepared by subjecting a ceramic structure to at least one heat treatment providing the formation in the structure of controlled macro- and micro-cracks, and subjecting the structure processed in this fashion to further heating under static pressure to form the final ceramic material having the favorable combination of properties enumerated herein. The invention extends to the material, the method of its preparation and to a variety of products having predetermined properties that can be fabricated therefrom. For example, cylinder inserts for the manufacture of internal combustion engines, and packaging for integrated circuit devices may be prepared from the present ceramic material.
