    摘要: A forming or re-rounding machine has opposed inner and outer hydraulic ram sets each carried in a housing with rollers. The ram set housings are movably mounted onto an I-beam frame connected by hydraulic cylinders. The frame supports a can or shell for rotation of the surface to position a region for forming or reforming between the hydraulic ram sets. Each ram set has a hydraulic cylinder for advancing a re-forming tool on either the inside or outside of the can or shell to reform the selected region. The I-beam hydraulic cylinders are allowed to compress when the can or shell is positioned for forming or reforming and help prevent flexing of the can or shell outside the selected region.

The pressurizing means includes a pressurizing lever (7) having a free end (6) swingably rotatable about a proximal end (5) for pressurizing the free end to be brought into contact with the deformed portion of the rim from inside, and a jack (8) for applying to the pressurizing lever a force in a direction in which the deformed portion is returned to the original form. A reactive force of the jack is received by the wheel supporting means (A).

    摘要: A hand tool for expanding hollow bodies contains a casing (2) having a laterally extending first hand lever (3). A second hand lever, (7) which consists of steel and is joined to the casing so as to pivot on a shaft (5), bears a pinion sector (6) surrounding the shaft (5). The two hand levers (3, 7) form a pliers In the casing (2) a bore is disposed for guiding a rack consisting of steel, one end of which cooperates within the bore with the pinion sector (6) such that an expansion wedge can be displaced outwardly by a closing movement of the two hand levers (3, 7). The casing has means by which an expansion head with radially moving expander jaws can be placed coaxially onto the outwardly tapered end of the spreading wedge. To reduce both the weight and the force required for operation, the casing (2) and its hand lever (3) consist of a light material from the plastic and light metal group. The casing (2) thus forms together with the rack a low-friction combination of light material and steel. Preferably the weight of the second hand lever (7) consisting with the pinion sector (6) of steel is further reduced by at least one opening (7d, 7e, 7g) between the flanges (7a, 7b).

    摘要: A method of manufacturing a metal pipe with an eccentrically expanded open end comprises the steps of plastically deforming to a coaxially expanded state M1 so that an axial wall length L2 at a side to be eccentrically expanded is longer than an axial wall length L1 at the opposite side to be expanded without eccentricity. The coaxially expanded open end M1 is then plastically deformed to an eccentrically expanded state M2 by forcibly inserting an eccentrically expanding punch into the coaxially expanded open end M1. The eccentrically expanding punch has a boundary between a conical tip and a cylindrical body inclined with a predetermined angle &thgr; so as to bring the cylindrical body into contact with an inner wall of the coaxially expanded open end M1 at a side to be eccentrically expanded earlier than the opposite side to be expanded without eccentricity. When the coaxially expanded open end M1 is plastically deformed to an eccentrically expanded state M2, metal flow is suppressed at a side to, be eccentrically expanded, but metal flow from the opposite side to be expanded without eccentricity to the former side is promoted. Consequently, the open end is plastically deformed to the eccentrically expanded state M2 without any thickness deviation along a circumferential direction.
