摘要:
A system and method for providing a ski-snowboard device capable of skinning in an uphill ski mode and skiing in a downhill snowboard mode. The system may include two skis with inner and outer edges having substantially concave side cuts, and an insert that fits into the space between the inner edge side cuts of each of the two skis. The concave side cuts of the inner edges of the skis may have a groove formed in each, and a mating tongue on each side of the insert can fit into the grooves in a downhill snowboard mode. The tongue-and-groove connection may improve the torsional stiffness of the board, and the concave side cuts may allow a user to better grip when skiing and eliminate the step of switching the skis when used as sides of the snowboard.

A ski gripping system has a ski, a gripping strip and a piece of skins. The gripping strip is mounted longitudinally and laterally to an outer side of the ski along a center portion/grip zone of the ski. A width of the gripping strip is from 17 mm to 60 mm, a height of the gripping strip is from 15 mm to 25 mm, and a length of the gripping strip is from 600 mm to 800 mm. A longitudinal bottom inner edge of the gripping strip is level with an underside of the ski. An underside of the gripping strip is laterally outward sloping 5 degrees upward relative to the underside of the ski. The piece of skins is attached to the underside of the gripping strip.

The present invention relates to a gliding board for cross-country skiing, intended to receive a shoe fastener (F) including an upper face, a lower face and side ridges, characterized in that at least one of the side ridges of the board is provided with a series of notches (11) whereof each rim (11a) defines, on the one hand, a transverse stop face (12) making it possible to stop the board in the backwards direction, and on the other hand, a longitudinal connecting face (13) between the notches (11) allowing forward gliding.

The present disclosure relates to snowboards and skis that include a pair of edges for each longitudinal side of the snowboard or ski. The edges are laterally spaced apart, with one edge being an outer edge and the other edge being an inner edge. The inner edge is positioned vertically lower than the outer edge. The inner edge generally engages the snow surface prior to the outer edge, and is thus a transitional edge. Transitional edges may be rounded edges. The top surface of dual-edges snowboards or ski include an inner portion flanked on each lateral side by a lateral offset. A portion of the inner portion is recessed relative to the lateral offsets. The outer edges are positioned on a base surface of the lateral offsets. The inner edges are positioned on a base surface that is below the interface between the lateral offsets and the inner portion.

A gliding board may have less resistance to bending in portions within one or both binding mounting regions as compared to portions at or near ends of the binding mounting regions. Some embodiments provide for increased ability to store and release energy when performing certain maneuvers with the board, such as nose presses, ollies and similar moves. Regions of greatest stiffness may be arranged at outer ends of the binding mounting regions, and may be arranged along lines that are transverse to a longitudinal axis of the board. Alternately, a board may include heel and toe convex portions in the heel and toe side edges that are offset along the board length, e.g., so that the heel convex portions are closer to each other and to a longitudinal board center than the toe convex portions.

Gliding boards having removable edge sections and methods of modifying gliding boards are disclosed herein. A gliding board of one embodiment includes a board body having top and bottom sides and defining a recessed area therebetween. A plurality of edge sections are removable from and replaceable to the board body, and each edge section has an engaging region complementary to the recessed area of the board body.

A ski or ski-like device with an improved edging feature to assist skiers in edging during icy conditions. The edging feature includes a structure and method that provides a lateral edge on the inside of the ski that can extend into the snow surface beneath the bottom surface of the ski. When the ski is turned (i.e., rotated about its longitudinal axis) the extended inside edge of the downhill ski digs into the snow surface to provide improved gripping and control. The edge adapted to extend beneath the bottom surface of the ski is provided either by attaching an edge that extends below the bottom surface of the ski, or by providing a bottom surface of the ski in the region adjacent to the extended edge that is arranged to yield under pressure, to expose the extended edge when vertical force is applied to the bottom surface of the ski during a turn.

A snow sliding device such as a ski, a monoski, or a snowboard, has a plane of general symmetry P. It includes a principal part, called a body or base 2, which has a longitudinal rib 11 formed between two lateral channels 5a, 5b which open laterally toward the exterior EX and upward HA, and which do not open downward BA. A thin, lower lateral edge 20 extends below the channel. In each of the channels 5a, 5b, a complementary lateral element 3a, 3b, respectively, is attached. A height H of the ski, which corresponds to a distance between an upper surface 30 of the complementary lateral elements 3a, 3b and a lower sliding surface 6, is variable.

A ski or snowboard with removable and interchangeable edge sections. These edge sections are specifically designed to allow a ski or snowboard to have the best edge combination for traditional use as well as for sliding or grinding on objects. The fixed or removable grind plate system protects a ski or snowboards edges from damage due to sliding or grinding on objects and surfaces.
