Abstract: A biomedical connector includes a housing defining an interior space and an opening dimensioned to receive an electrode at least partially into the interior space. A lever is movably attached to the housing and biased toward an engagement position for contacting the electrode when the electrode is received in the opening in the housing to retain the biomedical connector to the electrode. A dampener is disposed in the interior space of the housing and configured to engage the electrode when the electrode is received in the opening in the housing. The dampener is configured to limit movement of the biomedical connector relative to the electrode to reduce motion artifact in a biomedical signal received by the biomedical connector.

Abstract: A seal portion 24 is arranged between a first fixing surface 222 and a second fixing surface 311. A biasing member 25 comes into contact with a tapered surface 332 of a male terminal 331 received in a female terminal 231 and applies a force in a direction in which the male terminal 331 and the female terminal 231 are moved closer to each other. In a state where the male terminal 331 is received in the female terminal 231, the seal portion 24 is compressed by being sandwiched between the first fixing surface 222 and the second fixing surface 311, and a periphery of the male terminal 331 and the female terminal 231 becomes in a state of being sealed by the seal portion 24.

Abstract: A multiparameter monitor (MPM) for a patient includes a disposable electrode patch (DEP) comprising a plurality of male snap post electrodes, an optics interface and a thermal/respiratory interface to a skin surface of the patient. The MPM also includes an electronics module and wireless transmitter (EMT) in connection with a plurality of female snap receptors and configured to transmit a signal data based on a connection and a disconnection of the plurality of the female snap receptors to the male snap post electrodes. The MPM additionally includes a reflective pulse oximeter (RPO) separated from a skin surface of the patient based on a thickness of the DEP, the RPO in communication with the wireless transmitter. The MPM further includes a mobile photoplethysmogram processor (PPG) in communication with the wireless transmitter and the optics interface and configured to filter a motion artifact in the PPG.

Abstract: An electrode connector adapted for attachment to a biomedical patient electrode by either pinch or snap connection includes a pair of pivotally connected members including a connector body and a jaw pivotally connected to said connector body, with the jaw defining a beveled lower surface that functions to urge the jaw open by engagement of the top surface of an ECG stud thereby allowing the connector to be attached by snap engagement. An electrically conducting plate is disposed at the bottom of the connector to maximize electrical contact with the electrode stud. The jaw member further includes a lip functioning to engage a lower portion of the head of the stud and urge the radially enlarged base of the stud into electrical contact with the bottom surface of said electrically conducting member. An ECG electrode connector in accordance with the present invention may further be fabricated of radiolucent materials.
