Abstract:
The object of the present invention is to provide a flexibly elastic and light reflective tip for stick use, which improves the safety in use of a stick. In the present invention, this object is attained by providing an irregular reflecting surface on the upper portion of the tip by forming a cylindrical metal having an excellent light reflectivity by plating or pressing, to have a cross-sectionally serrated or wave form for more reflectivity.
Abstract:
A stabilizing cane attachment for supporting a user upon sandy and snow covered surfaces. The stabilizing cane attachment includes a support member having a bore extending therethrough and being adapted mount at a bottom end portion of a cane; and also includes a first stopper member being adapted to securely attach about the cane above the support member to prevent the support member from coming off the cane; and further includes a second stopper member being adapted to securely attach about a bottom end of the cane.
Abstract:
An object of the invention is to provide a tip for stick use without any movable portion and any sliding portion, which is monolithically formed to be flexibly deformable having a restoring function as well as a simple constitution, and a stick shod with the same. The tip is mainly constituted of a lower portion 1 for contacting the ground, an upper portion 2 whereon a hole 6 to be inserted with the stick 3 is opened and a flexibly deformable portion 4 for connecting aforesaid lower portion 1 and upper portion 2 which is equipped with an annular concavity 5 on a peripheral surface. The above-mentioned three portions 1, 2 and 4 constituting the tip are fabricated monolithically from an elastic material.
Abstract:
According to the present invention, there is provided a cane including a handle, a hollow shaft, and a stand mechanism for standing the cane in an upright position upon its shaft. The stand mechanism is releasably retractable from within the hollow shaft through a hand grip mechanism manually operable by the user of the cane. Additionally, the present invention provides for an actuating mechanism extending from the handle, through the shaft and to stand mechanism for actuating the stand mechanism.
Abstract:
A walking aid (1) for attachment to a leg (2) of a walking stick or crutch, comprises a foot plate (3), and an attachment device in the form of a rubber molding (6) for attaching the foot plate (3) to the leg (2). The foot plate (3) and the attachment device (6) are constructed and arranged such that in use with the leg (2) attached to the foot plate (3), a portion (8) of a peripheral edge (5) of the foot plate (3) protrudes a sufficient amount (l) to enable the leg (2) when resting on the ground to be tilted to a substantially upright position by appropriate application of foot pressure to the portion (8), thereby enabling a person with disability to pick up a dropped walking stick or crutch.
