    Abstract: A second buttonhole is provided on a front cloth of an inner fold of a neckband. A left end of a rubber tape is stitched on a rear cloth. A moving cloth is stitched on a right end thereof. A lining cloth is stitched on the moving cloth. A right end of the lining cloth is stitched inside the rear cloth of the inner fold of the neckband. An uppermost button is firmly stitched on the moving cloth so as to move inside the second buttonhole. Since the leading end of the neckband inner fold is protruded from the inner fold main body of the shirt, even if the second buttonhole is made long, there is remained a space from the leading end of the second buttonhole to the leading end of the neckband inner fold. Consequently, the sewing work becomes easy. Moreover, it becomes excellent in design by devising a shape of the protruded portion.

    Abstract: A second buttonhole 6 is provided on a front cloth 3a of an inner fold of a neckband 3 of a dress shirt 1. A left end of a rubber tape 8 is stitched on a rear cloth 3b. A left end of a padding 7a is stitched on a right end thereof. A lining cloth 7b is stitched on a right end of the padding 7a. A right end of the lining cloth 7b is stitched inside the rear cloth 3b of the neckband 3. A vertical tape 9 has an upper end and a lower end stitched on the rear cloth 3b under the padding 7a. A horizontal tape 10 is passed therebetween and has its opposite ends stitched on rear sides of the padding 7a and the lining cloth 7b, respectively. Thus, there is provided a structure that a vertical tape 9 is held between a moving cloth, which is made of the padding 7a and the lining cloth 7b, and the horizontal tape 10. When an uppermost button 4 is hooked on the second buttonhole 6 of the front cloth 3a and moved rightward against a tensile force of the rubber tape 8, it can move smoothly. Moreover, a neckline can be adjusted to a desired length without a conspicuous action.

    Abstract: A shirt construction includes an adjustable collar for accommodating different neck sizes, and an adaptor is operable in combination with a conventional shirt for adapting the collar thereof for adjustability. The shirt construction includes an extension tab which extends from a first front edge portion of the shirt adjacent the collar thereof, a reinforcing panel for reinforcing the first front edge portion and hook-and-pile-type fastening elements for adjustably securing the first front edge portion to an opposite second front edge portion adjacent the shirt collar. The adaptor includes an extension tab and a reinforcing panel which are securable to buttons on a first front edge portion of a shirt adjacent the collar thereof, a fastening tab which is securable in a collar buttonhole of a second front edge portion of the shirt, and a hook-and-pile-type fastening element for adjustably securing the extension tab to the fastening tab.

The cuff assemblies include a slash guard retaining pocket and an elasticizing means, which in the preferred embodiment is the sleeve cuff itself.
