摘要： A hay making machine has a rake that rotates on an upwardly extending axis and an outer circumference defined by a felly or rim to which elongated crop working elements are connected. The elements can be tines or flexible strips that are pivotally or flexibly associated with the felly or rim so that the elements respond to ground undulations or a control device and pivot or otherwise deflect. In one aspect, tines having supporting portions integral with outer bent end portions are spaced from adjacent tines a distance (between corresponding points) less than the combined length of the two aforementioned tine portions to ensure that crop is retained during rotation of the rake member. Alternate tines may have different lengths or the tines may have plates to facilitate crop retention. A wire or rope can be connected to the tines above their outer ends to enhance their crop working cooperation or the tines can be interconnected by tortional rod portions and/or loops that are integral for the same effect. Also, the felly can be formed by the bottom of a walled rim of the rake. A control member in the form of a blower mounted within a housing at the rake's hub can be used to direct an air stream at crop held by the crop working elements to dislodge the crop at a preselected sector around the rake member's circumference. Wires interconnecting the hub to the elements in the form of flexible strips can be tripped by a roller positioned to contact the wires and distort the strips so that crop is dropped at a preselected sector. One or more swath forming members can be positioned above and/or laterally of the rake member to direct deposited crop.

摘要： Hay-raking machine having a plurality of raking means rotatable on vertical axes. The invention relates to the type of hay rake having a plurality, as four, vertically rotatable raking devices supported by ground wheels and connectible to a tractor, as by a conventional three-point attachment means. Frame structure for supporting said raking devices provides for convenient and efficient positioning by an operator without his leaving the tractor seat for adjusting the raking means through a plurality of desired operating positions as well as for moving the raking means into an appropriately compact position for transport of same. Positive drive means are provided for driving from the power output shaft of the tractor for driving said rakes, same being arranged, however, so as to not inhibit moving said rakes into a compact body for transport purposes and at the same time when said rakes are so positioned, to terminate the driving thereof. Other controls are provided and detailed for effecting appropriate adjustment and operation of the rakes with said controls all being accessible by the operator without leaving the operating seat of the tractor.

摘要： A raking machine that displaces crop lying on the ground has at least one, preferably two, raking members that rotate on upwardly extending axes. Each raking member has a felly-like or circular member around which tines or other crop gathering elements are displaceably mounted. The circular member can be a cylindrical or conical wall that is deformable or flexible during rotation so that tines secured by pivots or bolts near the bottom of the member can move in axial, radial or tangential directions responsive to ground undulations and/or control means, allowing crop to be deposited in a swath or at a predetermined point along the circumference of the raking member. The circular member can be foldable responsive to the control which can be driven along a track and unfolded to deposit crop as desired. Also, side-by-side raking members can have tines pivoted in assemblies in which crank arms are contacted by control means or elements on an adjacent rake wheel to turn the tines and deposit crop. Similarly, a magnet can be positioned near the felly like member to attract magnets on crank arms and pivot the tines to unload positions. A blower can be used as the control member or a roller support can be placed to distort wire spokes and tine strips, again unloading crop at a preselected site.

摘要： A raking implement has at least one, preferably two, rotating rake wheels which are driven via a power takeoff to rotate about upwardly extending axes. Each rake wheel has radially extending arms, the ends of which have tines on supports pivotally connected to the arms. The tines are pivoted to move from one working position to another or a transport position in response to the torque of the driving connection so that one or more working positions can be achieved automatically during operation. The driving connection includes a geared hub connected through a coupling or directly to the tine supports and the tine supports can be movably associated or linked to the radial arms to rotate same after the tines and supports have been pivoted to another position. One or more stops and other adjusting means are employed to arrange and/or limit the positions of the tines and supports relative to the remainder of the rake wheel.
