摘要： An articulated riding mower comprised of a sulky unit pivotally connected to a walk-behind mower. To attach the sulky to the walk-behind mower, the mower deck includes a bridge support overlying the mower deck between the rear corner positions thereof. The bridge support has depending extensions at the corner positions mounted on the axle of the rear wheels. The depending extensions of the bridge support are, in turn, rigidly fastened to the respective corners of the mower deck. A central portion of the bridge support carries a pivotal connection including a bearing for removably attaching the sulky to the walk-behind mower. In a preferred embodiment, the handle of the walk-behind mower is connected, at its lower end, directly to the bridge support.

摘要： A riding mower having an improved blade housing and blade assembly for generating exceedingly high vacuum under the blade housing for facilitating cutting, conveyance and discharge of grass clippings into a two-wheeled cart which trails the mower through means of a hitch. Grass clippings leave and are conveyed from the blade housing to the cart in a straight line through a conduit including telescoping chutes which permit the conduit to elongate or retract to accommodate change in lengths between the blade housing and the cart during operation. The cart has an open top covered by a canopy including a flexible front wall portion which receives an elbow chute to which one of the telescoping discharge chutes is attached. The canopy is pivotally mounted to the front of the cart, and a linkage is provided such that, to discharge the grass clippings, the canopy merely has to be raised through pivoting action which will cause the rear of the cart to pivot downwardly towards the ground as the canopy is being raised so that the contents will discharge by gravity through the rear of the cart. In another use of the mower, the cart is unhitched and another grass collecting assembly is substituted by mounting it directly to frame portions of the mower at its rear. The mower may also be converted for discharging the grass clippings from the blade housing laterally onto the ground without collection.

摘要： Implements designed for attachment to a lawn and garden tractor include elongate attaching frames having the implement tool connected to first ends of the frames and transport wheels located so that the weight of the implement is distributed approximately half on opposite sides of the wheel axes so that the implement may be easily pushed about on the wheels during mounting and dismounting the implement to and from the tractor frame. Attachment brackets and lift links of the implements are engageable with attachment pins and lift crank arms of the tractor without necessitating any lifting of the implement. Also with driven implements, the drive belts are arranged on or stored with the implements so that the tractor drive may be easily and correctly connected.

摘要： Quick attachment of crop handling headers to harvesters employs one or more wedge locks, utilizing the mechanical forces thereof to, in turn, tightly and firmly wedge an elongated tongue portion of the header into mating relationship with a header-supporting channel member on the harvester. For fast and easy attachment and release, reciprocable wedge-like latches are jammed into corresponding keepers with progressively increased tightness through use of reciprocable latch shifters readily accessible to the operator at ground level exteriorly of the ends of the header support. An exceptionally strong joint is effected as the latches and their keepers jam the tongue into the channel member.

摘要： A laterally shiftable draper header for a windrower is disclosed wherein a pair of draper sections are laterally shiftable on the header subframe to vary the position of the crop discharge opening between left, right and central positions. When the discharge opening is positioned at a central location between separated draper sections, it is necessary that the draper conveyors rotate in opposing directions to deliver crop material to the discharge opening. However, when the draper sections are positioned adjacent one another and shifted to one side of the machine or the other it is necessary for the draper conveyors to rotate in the same direction to convey crop to the discharge opening. A reversing mechanism for changing the direction of rotation of one of the draper sections relative to the other in response to the relative position of the other draper section is provided and includes a push rod for sensing the proximate location of the other draper section to cause the associated draper conveyor to reverse direction of rotation.

摘要： The rotary mower has a blade housing supported on wheels for travel along the ground and including a top deck, a front wall and opposed side walls depending from the top deck, a rear wall depending from the top deck and extending transversely between the rear portions of the side walls, and a plurality of cutter blades which are mounted inside the blade housing and are rotated in the same direction about laterally spaced vertical axes. A flexible flap extending transversely generally coextensively with the rear wall and extending substantially vertically down to engage the mowed grass forms an effective air seal substantially across the rear of the blade housing. A portion of the grass clippings is impelled rearwardly toward the rear wall and another portion is impelled transversely toward an arcuate baffle disposed inside the blade housing near one of the side walls, extending between the front and rear walls of the blade housing, and having a rear portion extending closely adjacent the travel path of the corresponding cutter blade. The arcuate baffle guides the latter portion of the grass clippings in a direction along the rear wall and thereby promotes even distribution of the clippings from the rear of the blade housing.

摘要： A sugar-cane harvester having a frame and a cutter unit is provided with means for adjusting a vertically swingable cutter unit having a skid engaging the ground in its traveling path over uneven ground. This means includes a double-acting hydraulic piston-cylinder unit and a spring whose force counteracts the major part of the weight of the cutter unit. The piston of the hydraulic unit is connected to the cutter unit whereas its cylinder is connected to the frame of the harvester. The adjusting assembly further includes a slide adapted to selectively supply with a working fluid each of two opposite ends of the cylinder chamber, and a pair of electro-magnetic valves actuating the movement of the slide in two opposite directions in response to any inclined position of the cutter unit in its travelling path over uneven ground.
