Abstract:
A gasoline engine powered walk behind brush cutter for small trees and the like has a vertical blade available for cutting low-lying tree limbs and other vegetation and has a horizontal blade for cutting small tree trunks or the like. A manual grappler is affixed to the frame of the brush cutter to direct the vegetation into, for example the vertical cutting blade. This device is particularly useful for clearing shrubbery and other vegetation from overgrown lots and in confined areas where larger vehicles cannot maneuver.
Abstract:
A lawnmower includes a cutter assembly having a cutter deck and at least three cutter blades disposed respectively in first, second and third cutting zones within the cutter deck. The cutter blades are coupled to a power source by a power transmission assembly. A first opening is formed in one side of the cutter deck adjacent the second cutting zone and a closure member is removably mounted on the cutter deck for closing the first opening. A second opening is formed in the cutter deck adjacent the second cutting zone and a conduit is coupled at one end to the second opening and at its other end to a hopper for conducting grass clippings from the cutter assembly to the hopper. A plurality of baffles define portions of the first, second and third cutting zones and are configured to direct clippings from the first cutting zone to the third cutting zone and from the third cutting zone to the second cutting zone. One of the baffles is configured to be mounted over the second opening and is removable to communicate the conduit with the second cutting zone.
Abstract:
A cutting device for a cutting machine including a driver driven by a drive shaft, a support structure secured to the driver and at least one drive device intended to drive a cut product toward the rear of the cutting machine. The drive device includes at least two drive walls which extend approximately right around the support structure and which are fixed removably to the support structure by assembly elements.
Abstract:
An agricultural machine including a chassis, a working unit connected to the chassis by a suspension device so that the working unit can move relative to the chassis during work, at least one operating ram for raising the working unit into a transport position or lowering it into a work position relative to the chassis, and at least one lightening ram for transferring part of the weight of the working unit onto the chassis. The operating ram and the lightening ram each include a corresponding chamber formed in a same mobile cylinder, each chamber being connected to a source of fluid and the cylinder being associated with a corresponding locking mechanism for preventing the cylinder from rotating about its longitudinal axis.
Abstract:
A self-propelled, walk-behind commercial type lawn mower having a frame with a mower deck attached to a front section of the frame, an engine mounted to a rear section of the frame, and a handle bar assembly attached to and extending rearwardly and upwardly from the rear section of the frame. The mower deck includes at least one rotatable wing section pivotally attached to the frame of the mower deck for movement between a substantially horizontal operating position and a substantially vertical non-operating position. The rotatable wing section extends the mowing width of the mower deck and allows mower to travel through narrow passageways of an enclosed mowing area. A locking mechanism secures the wing section in its substantially horizontal operating position and a substantially vertical non-operating position. A rotatable caster wheel attached to the front of the wing section may be retracted to provide maximum clearance when the wing section is in its vertical position.
Abstract:
A self-propelled power lawn mower is provided with a deck lifting system. The operator can lift the cutter deck or the engine deck by pulling upward/backward on a deck-lifting lever. Moreover, a latch system for enabling the deck to be lowered and/or adjusted.
Abstract:
A rotary mower for cutting vegetation including grass, brush and the like, and more particularly to a rotary ditch mower having a main body and extension wings or side sections supporting a number of cutting blades. The main body and extension wings are supported by contour following ground wheels and the main body also foldably supports the extension wings which may be inclined relative to the main body. The mower is also provided with a hitch pole for pull behind connection with a tractor and an articulation mechanism of the main body and extension wings for adjustment of cutting height over varying terrain during cutting operations as well as for raising the extension wings to a transport position and for raising the mower to a substantially vertical position, i.e., the main body and extension wings raised perpendicular with respect to the ground to facilitate servicing and maintenance of the mower.
Abstract:
A rotary cutting deck for a mower includes a cutting deck supported by wheels at three of the four corners of the deck. The other corner of the cutting deck, namely a corner of the deck that is close to the mower, is supported by a corner suspension that lifts upwardly with a biasing force sufficient to elevate that corner of the deck above the ground. This corner suspension takes the place of the caster wheel that would normally support this corner of the deck, and thus permits the deck to be moved closer to the side of the mower, thus reducing overall mower width without decreasing the width of the cutting swath.
Abstract:
Cutting apparatus (10) comprising a body assembly (11) including a lower wear disc (12) and an upper lifting and cutting assembly (13), mounted for driven rotation on a mower via driving hub (14). The lifting and cutting assembly (13) includes four blade assemblies (15) each comprising a pivoting angled blade (16) pivotally supported on lug (17) by bolt (20), located at the outer end of lifting means (21) comprising a curve walled portion (22) extending from a hub (23) and having an upper edge (24) which curves in a trailing direction out to the blade assembly (15 at 25). The cutting apparatus (10) forms a mower in assembly with a frame assembly (35) having mounted thereto a plane roller (36), a ribbed roller (37), describing therebetween a nip (40). The rollers are driven by train (41) adapted to be engaged by the PTO of a vehicle. Ribbed roller (37) has a plurality of substantially evenly spaced ribs each extending between the ends of the roller and curving back about the cylindrical roller surface to a mid point disposed in trailing relation relative to the rib ends. Each rib declines at an angle of 25 degrees to the longitudinal axis of the roller.
Abstract:
A mower comprising a cutting mechanism which, during work, extends transversely to a direction of work, a hitching structure connected to a motor vehicle, a carrying beam connected, on one hand, to the cutting mechanism by a first articulation and, on another hand, to the hitching structure by a second articulation and of a third articulation, which allows the second articulation to pivot with respect to the hitching structure, a device, for moving the carrying beam and the cutting mechanism between at least one transport position and one other position, and vice versa, and a lifting member for moving the carrying beam and the cutting mechanism between a work position and a maneuvering position, wherein the lifting member is associated with a damping member for absorbing abrupt movements of the carrying beam with respect to the hitching structure when the carrying beam is in the maneuvering position or respectively in the transport position.
