    摘要: A drive apparatus for use with a computerized combination dial lock includes a rotating or longitudinally translating member which imparts motion to an electrical generator for powering the electrical components of the computerized combination dial lock. The drive apparatus is independent of the combination dial of the computerized lock. In one embodiment, the dial ring of the combination dial is rotatable to drive the electrical generation for power output to the computerized lock components. Alternatively, the combination dial and spindle are spring biased for longitudinal translation thereof to drive the electrical generator. In another embodiment, a lever member adjacent the dial ring or a key inserted in a keyway is rotated for powering the computerized lock. In yet another embodiment, a portable power source is in the form of a key and a portable power source contained therein. The key is designed to engage a keyway mounted in or adjacent the combination dial lock assembly to provide power to the electrical components therein. The power source can include a battery or solar power, or be developed by mechanical energy.

    摘要: A combination lock/deadbolt assembly connection technique is disclosed for connecting the bolt of the combination lock to the deadbolt of the deadbolt assembly to provide a lost motion connection while at the same time to retain the ability to position a magnetic anti-attack interlock within the bolt of the combination lock. A connecting shaft is disposed between the bolt and the deadbolt and a spring bias force introduced between the two bolts. The shaft may be attached rigidly at one end to either the lock bolt or deadbolt. The opposite end is loosely attached by retaining rings or retaining rings to accommodate the movement of the loosely attached bolt with respect to the shaft thereby providing a lost motion connection. A compression spring is disposed intermediate to the lock bolt and the deadbolt to provide a separating or extending force. The connection constitutes a lost motion connection to permit either the withdrawal of the deadbolt without withdrawal of the lock bolt or extension of the lock bolt without requiring extension of the deadbolt.

    摘要: A combination lock has a locking bolt movable in bolt-opening and bolt-closing directions by a bolt-operating knob; a plurality of displaceable locking bars each having a predetermined position dependent upon a set combination; an arrangement for preventing the locking bolt from movement from a fully-closed position unless each locking bar is in its predetermined position; a plurality of displaceable code bars connected to the locking bars; a plurality of displaceable digit slides each having an externally accessible, manually engageable portion, a plurality of digit markings and a lug operatively engaging into the associated code bar; a movable carrier plate traversed by the lugs of the digit slides, whereby the locking bars, the code bars and the digit slides are displaced by the carrier plate during a motion thereof in a direction opposite the direction of movement of the locking bolt during opening. The bolt-operating knob is coupled with the carrier plate for moving the latter in a direction opposite the bolt-opening direction during displacement of the locking bolt in the bolt-opening direction.
