    摘要: This invention provides a combined fashion accessory and key. The fashion accessory includes a decorative head having front and back sides, an elongate shaft having first and second opposed ends. The first end of the elongate shaft is attached to the back side of the decorative head, and an elongate bar is pivotally connected to the second end of the elongate shaft. The elongate bar has at least one key feature at a first end thereof so that the elongate bar is a key. When the elongate bar is longitudinally aligned with said elongate shaft in a second locking position, the decorative head, in combination with the elongate shaft and the elongate bar provides a key functionality such that when the key feature is inserted into a lock and a user grips a grippable peripheral portion of the decorative head and rotates it, torque is applied to the elongate bar thus rotating it and the key feature to unlock the lock.

    摘要: A key for opening multiple axial pin locks has a base member with an indexing element and a number of lock pins, configured to match the keyways of the locks. The key has a microprocessor with access to information on the pin configuration for each lock to be opened, and the lock pins are selectively positioned along the base member to match the configuration of a key for a particular lock in response to the user entering an identification code for that lock. The lock pins can slidably engage recessed tracks in the base member, which serve to direct the lock pins parallel to an axis of the base member. A pin latching mechanism can be provided to secure the lock pins in the desired position.

    摘要: A locking system is set forth having a key and a lock cylinder. The lock cylinder has a cylinder core journalled in a housing and having a keyway for inserting the key. A plurality of tumblers actuable by the key and an additional blocking element movably arranged in a guide passage of the cylinder core project into the keyway, said additional blocking element being displaceable obliquely or transversely to the direction of insertion of the key. The additional blocking element is made for cooperation with a counter-element arranged at the key blade with a key introduced up to the maximum insertion depth. The counter-element is in this respect arranged in a groove or recess starting from the key tip and extending in the longitudinal direction of the key blade.

    摘要: An organizing device including housing, cover, and sliding mechanism. The housing includes a cavity, at least one open end and at least one sliding mechanism opening extending in the longitudinal direction along the housing for receiving and retaining at least part of the sliding mechanism within the housing. The cover is removeably attached over the open end of the housing. Sliding mechanism includes an actuation portion or thumb actuator and mounting portion for mounting a key or other user device. The mounting portion of the sliding mechanism is positioned inside cavity of the housing and the actuation portion of the sliding mechanism extends though the sliding mechanism opening in the housing. In one implementation, the mounting mechanism may be permanently or removeably fixed to the user device. In the case of a key, the mounting mechanism may be mounted to the key blade to form the modified key. The sliding mechanism is movable longitudinally along the housing to retract and extend the user device in and out of one end of the housing.

A circuit board (34) that has mounted thereon electric circuits and a key contact part (35) connected electrically to the electric circuits are accommodated in a circuit board cradle (30) made of electrically non-conductive material. The circuit board cradle is fitted to the key blank. The placement of a circuit board and electric contact conductor in an electrically non-conductive material makes possible rational manufacture of the arrangement. Because the circuit board cradle made of electrically non-conductive material can be fixated in the key blank it is possible to position the electric contact conductor precisely, thereby ensuring a reliable electric contact function.

    摘要: An apparatus for use with electronic and/or mechanical access control devices includes a holder which receives a removable insert which may include an electronic module with a cover member securing the insert to the holder. The holder may take various forms and may be in the form of a key ring, photo I.D. card, etc. The holder may be a key blank for forming a key that operates mechanical locks, in which case the insert may be a dummy insert or it may include electronic components for operating various types of electronic access control devices. A method of upgrading a key for operating a mechanical lock to a key for also operating an electronic access device is provided and involves replacing the insert in the key with an insert containing electronic components. The electronic components may utilize various technologies such as proximity-based access control.
