摘要： A separation portion having weakened tensile rupture strength of an element having tensile rupture strength reduced to 40 N or below is formed in a range of a first fixing portion of a first leg portion to a second fixing portion of a second leg portion via a coupling head portion, in at least a part of elements of the slide fastener. With this arrangement, when excessive lateral pulling force is applied to the slide fastener, cleavage lateral pulling force that causes cleavage of the slide fastener can be reduced. By adjusting tensile rupture strength of the elements, cleavage lateral pulling force of the slide fastener can be set within a predetermined range.

摘要： A slide fastener stringer having a continuous zigzag-shaped thermoplastic molded coupling element strip. The strip includes a succession of spaced coupling elements, each having a pair of first and second legs extending from a head in a common direction, and a plurality of first and second solid connecting portions alternately disposed at opposite sides of the strip and extending one between each adjacent pair of the coupling elements. Each first connecting portion and each second connecting portion extend between an adjacent pair of the first legs and between an adjacent pair of the second legs, respectively. The connecting portions are thin or more slender than the legs. A pair of connector threads extends transversely of the coupling elements through the full length of the strip and they are embedded in the first and second legs, respectively, of each coupling element, each connector thread being disposed close to and extending along a respective one of such two series of the first and second connecting portions.

摘要： A stringer method for making a plastic, relatively flexible stringer for a slide fastener is disclosed. The stringer blank is extruded in a relatively rigid U-shaped form and, subsequently, a plurality of longitudinally spaced, transverse slots are die cut in the stringer blank in order to provide a series of transverse, substantially parallel ladder-like portions wherein each of the ladder-like portions includes an interlocking head member. A plurality of longitudinally spaced apart seats are also formed by a die cutting step in order to define neck portions of reduced thickness about which the stitches are placed in order to secure the fabric to the stringer.

Each array is mounted on a resilient carrier strip and, to ensure a positive opening and closing action, each row of pins is mounted on a nonresilient strip transverse to the lengths of the carrier strips. 摘要： A slide fastener serves to connect mutually overlapping edge portions of flexible sheet elements. Two stringers are provided, each of which is adapted to be secured to one of the edge portions by a sewing thread, which extends generally longitudinally of the stringer. Two rows of engaging elements are provided. The engaging elements of each row are secured to one of the stringers and spaced in the longitudinal direction of the stringer to define spaces of substantial length in which the stringer is exposed between adjacent engaging elements carried by it. Each of the engaging elements comprises two engaging knobs and a bridge portion, which is disposed between the knobs. The knobs and bridge portion of each engaging element protrude from and are aligned transversely to the stringer carrying them. The knobs of each row are adapted to interengage with the knobs of the other row. The bridge portions of each row are designed to support the thread so that the same has uncontacted portions which in the spaces extend generally longitudinally of and are spaced from the associated stringer and are disposed between and laterally engageable by the knobs of the other row when the knobs of both rows are thus interengaged.
