Abstract:
A modular riser card, an electronic device having a modular riser card, and a method of determining a type of modular riser card pin connection are disclosed. The modular riser card includes a circuit board and a removable connector assembly. The circuit board includes a first receptacle having a plurality of first pins. The removable connector assembly includes a connector body defining a second receptacle having a plurality of second pins, and an opening formed in the connector body adjacent to the second receptacle. The connector body is mounted on the circuit board such that the first receptacle protrudes through the opening and is aligned with the second receptacle. The first and second receptacles form a riser card connector that is configured to removably receive an expansion card of an electronic device.
Abstract:
Ina connector with substrate, a compression connector pressed against and connected to a connection target object and a substrate are attached via a cage. The connector with substrate includes a substrate; a cage fixed to the substrate; and a compression connector inserted into the cage and including contacts that are in contact with the substrate, a housing to which the contacts are fixed, and a cover shell that covers an upper surface portion of the housing. One of the cage and the compression connector includes a lock hole and another of the cage and the compression connector includes a lock piece that enters the lock hole to fix a position of the compression connector with respect to the cage, or the cage or the compression connector includes the lock hole and the lock piece.
Abstract:
In general, embodiments of a bi-directional cable interconnect system are described. A connector bezel configured to guide engagement of a male mating connector of a cable with a female mating connector comprises a front plate having a main opening formed therein configured to allow passage of the male mating connector therethrough and a rear assembly attached to the front plate. The rear assembly comprises a plurality of walls forming a cable connector opening therethrough and a rear opening formed in the rear assembly configured to allow passage of the female mating connector therethrough. The cable connector opening is fluidly coupled with the main opening and with the rear opening.
Abstract:
Printed circuit board pad layouts and mechanical retainers are disclosed herein. For example, a printed circuit board is disclosed having a row of electrically conductive pads, the row of pads including pairs of signal pads with exactly one reference pad interposed between each pair of the signal pads. As another example, a mechanical retainer is disclosed that may assist in interconnecting two printed circuit boards and that has a longitudinal body with a threaded end, a head at an end opposite the threaded end, and a shank connecting the head to the threaded end.
Abstract:
A board connecting connector includes a board retaining portion and a terminal retaining portion. The board retaining portion is configured to retain or accommodate a board, and the terminal retaining portion is configured to retain or accommodate terminals. When the board retaining portion and the terminal retaining portions are in a state of fitting to each other, terminal portions provided on a board surface of the board and contact portions of the terminals contact to each other. The board retaining portion includes a fitting fixing portion and a board supporting portion. The fitting fixing portion is provided on a contacting side where the terminal portions of the board contact with the contact portions of the terminals, so as to press the board to secure therein. The board supporting portion is provided at a place other than the contacting side and can support the board.
Abstract:
A memory card includes a card body, an interface terminal and an attachment mechanism for detachably mounting the card to an adaptor of an electronic device. The interface terminal is disposed at a central portion of a major surface of the card body. The attachment mechanism is located at an outer peripheral portion of the card body that surrounds the central portion. The adaptor has a recess whose shape complements that of the major surface of the card body, and socket exposed at a central portion of the bottom of the recess. Thus, the memory card may be inserted face down into the adaptor.
Abstract:
In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, a circuit board comprising may include a substrate, a primary compression connector, and a second compression connector. The substrate may have a first side and a second side and may have formed therein a substrate retention channel. The primary compression connector may be coupled to the first side and have formed thereon a primary connector retention channel aligned with the substrate retention channel. The second compression connector may be coupled to the second side opposite from the first compression connector and may have formed thereon a secondary connector retention channel aligned with the substrate retention channel and the primary connector retention channel to define a circuit board retention channel.
Abstract:
A receptacle connector includes a receptacle insulator having an annular outer peripheral wall which defines a fitting recess; receptacle contacts; and a receptacle-side metal fixing member. When a projecting fitting portion of a plug insulator of a plug connector is fitted into the fitting recess, plug contacts of the plug connector come into contact with the receptacle contacts, and the plug connector comes into contact with the receptacle-side metal fixing member. The receptacle-side metal fixing member and the receptacle insulator are integrally formed by insert molding, and the receptacle-side metal fixing member includes a resilient contact portion which is spaced from a surface of the outer peripheral wall on the circumferentially inner side thereof when the resilient contact portion is in a free state.
