摘要： Tape partially curves around a one-way tape brake for a cassette. The brake has a cylindrical roller with a side extension. When the tape advances, a smooth cylindrical side of the roller allows tape forward movement. When the tape tends to reverse the tape pulls a friction surface rearward, turning the roller and frictionally engaging the tape and pinching it against a tape guide. Rearward tape motion is prevented.

摘要： A magnetic tape cassette is provided with a pivotal closure lid pivotably secured to both sides of a casing for movement between a closed position, in which the front opening of the casing, through which a magnetic tape is accessible for loading onto a rotary head, is covered, and an open position wherein the closure lid is pivoted away from said opening to expose the tape while the cassette is in use. The magnetic tape cassette is also provided with a sliding closure member slidably mounted on the bottom of the casing and cooperative with the aforementioned pivotal closure lid. The sliding closure member is in a closed position while the pivotal closure lid is in its closed position, in which it covers a bottom clearance through which a device constituting part of a tape holding system is inserted, and in an open position while the pivotal closure lid is in its open position to allow the aforementioned device of the tape handling system to reach into the casing through the bottom clearance. A locking pin holds the sliding closure in the current one of its two positions. The sliding closure holds the pivotal closed while in its own closed position.

摘要： A magnetic tape cassette has a slidable braking member for controlling the rotation of reel hubs about which a magnetic tape is wound. In order to facilitate the process of assembling the magnetic tape cassette, the braking member is temporarily secured to an upper part of the cassette housing with a light pressure at a position outside its normal slidable range. After the completion of the assembly, the braking member is disengaged from the upper part of the cassette housing, and thereafter it moves only within its normal slidable range in order to lock or release the reel hubs.

摘要： The present invention provides a tape cassette used as a recording medium for the recording and/or reproducing apparatus, such as a tape recorder. The tape cassette includes a lid for protecting the tape during the time the tape cassette is not used and a lock lever for locking the lid in a closed state. According to the present invention, the abutting portion on the lock lever on which abuts the release pin of the aforementioned recording and/or reproducing apparatus which is adapted for releasing the lock of the lock lever, is inclined with respect to the moving direction of the release pin, so that, when the release pin undergoes positional deviation in a direction orthogonal to its moving direction, the lock lever may be at a predetermined position when the lock lever is released, so as to prevent the lock lever from contacting with the tape in the tape cassette due to the aforementioned positional deviation of the release pin to assure the running stability of the tape.

摘要： A magnetic tape cassette of a type particularly useful for high density digital audio recording wherein the tape is positively protected from dust and other contamination. The cassette includes a pair of hubs on which the magnetic tape is wound, and a locking member for locking the hubs. An opening is provided through which the tape can be extracted for playing. A swingable guard panel is provided which closes the front part of the opening when the cassette is not in use, and a slidable slide guard closes the lower part of the opening. The locking member has locking parts engaged with annular parts formed on the hubs to prevent rotation of the hubs, the locking member being slidable in a direction forwardly and backwardly of the cassette. The slide guard is in the form of a plate slidable on the outer surface of the bottom of the cassette forwardly and backwardly. A compound spring is provided which has a fulcrum part locked to a boss formed in the cassette case and two arms extending from the fulcrum part. One of the two arms urges the locking member toward the rear end of the cassette, while the other arm urges the slide guide towards the front end of the cassette.
