A toner prepared using the method, an image forming method using the toner, and an image forming apparatus using the toner are also provided by the invention. According to the method, the size and configuration of toner particles are easily controlled. In addition, the method minimizes the use of a surfactant, and decreases polluted water and waste water, which is very advantageous environmentally.
Abstract:
The present invention is a method for the preparation of electrostatographic toner that includes the following steps. A polymer material is dissolved in an organic solvent to form an organic phase that includes a metal complex of zinc dimethyldithiocarbamate; zinc diethyldithiocarbamate; dibenzyldithiocarbamate, zinc di-n-butyldithiocarbamate. The organic phase is dispersed in an aqueous phase that includes a particulate stabilizer to form a dispersion and the resultant dispersion is homogenized. The organic solvent is evaporated and the resultant product is recovered, washed and dried.
Abstract:
Disclosed are an electrophotographic toner and a method of preparing the same. The electrophotographic toner includes latex; a colorant; and a releasing agent. The absolute value of a differential value of complex viscosity with respect to temperature, ( η T ) of the electrophotographic toner in a temperature range of 100° C.-160° C. is in a range of about 0.03 to about 0.06, and complex viscosity (η) of the electrophotographic toner at 140° C. is in a range of about 1.0×102 Pa·s to about 6.0×102 Pa·s.
Abstract:
Provided are a latex process and a toner process, both of which include the preparation of a latex having weight average molecular weight of from about 12×103 to about 24×103. The latex is manufactured under monomer-starved polymerization condition such as monomer feeding rate equal to or less than 0.516% per minute by weight of the monomer(s) to be fed. The toners prepared according to the present disclosure have gained improved properties such as gloss, fusing performance, crease performance, stripping performance, document offset, vinyl offset, and parent charging etc.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a process for latex preparation comprising a first heating of a latomer mixture comprising at least one free radical polymerizable monomer to low conversion and then adding at least one alkylene anhydride; a second heating of the latomer mixture to low conversion; a third heating of the latomer mixture to form polymeric particles; and combining at least one amine with the polymeric particles.
