Abstract:
A target game is provided composed of a missile and a target, each containing respective portions thereof shaped with filamentary hook-like formations. The target is so constructed that a portion thereof is yieldable, permitting the missile to strike same and the hook-like formations thereof to engage and hold those hook-like formations of the target without disengagement due to bounce.
Abstract:
An automatic scoring dartboard apparatus utilizing darts having magnets attached thereto for throwing at a dart board. The dart board is rotatably mounted to a frame and is driven by an electric motor rotating the dart board at a slow speed. A plurality of magnetic actuatable switches are located behind the rotating dart board in alignment with the scoring rings of the dart board so that the magnets and the darts will be rotated by one switch thereby actuating the switch which actuates the score in the visual display.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a learning system that uses the concept of tossing a token (dart) at a specifically designed game board for individual or team players. Included in this invention are variations of the learning system involving religious, phonetic and phonological awareness, vocabulary, geography, mathematical, historical, and other facts. This system incorporates the concepts of the general game playing skills and tactics of a commonly known game, darts, but further incorporates the concept of using various facts and a point earning scheme to constitute a learning system that while educational is also entertaining. This learning system includes but is not limited to darts and dart boards because the game board can be made from various materials that will allow it to be safely used by children and adults of all ages both indoors and outdoors.
Abstract:
A structure for playing a game including a sheet of material adapted to be retained against a wall surface, and a plurality of darts having forwardly projecting barbs adapted to hook into the front surface of the sheet. The sheet may be suitably marked to define a game playing field, such as for scoring. The darts include a resilient pad for absorbing inertia forces to facilitate retention of the darts on the sheet by the hooking action.
Abstract:
The tomahawk board game includes a tomahawk-shaped projectile (10) and a game board having a target drawn on at least one side (12). The blade edge (4) of the tomahawk-shaped projectile is covered with the loop side of a hook and loop fastening means which will connect and attach to the hook side of the hook and loop fastening means covering the target area of the game board (3). The blade edge of the tomahawk-shaped projectile is angled (11) to avoid bouncing off the game board. After the tomahawk-shaped projectile is propelled into the air towards the target game board, the blade edge also gives the thrower two chances (6,7) to make connection for scoring.
Abstract:
A triple-play game (10) that allows three games to be played indoors: basketball, tetherball and target-board. All three games utilize a pole (12) positioned vertically between the ceiling and floor of a room. Basketball is played with a ball (20) attached to a line (14) having its other end attached to a wrist strap (24). The basketball backboard (30) is clipped to the pole (12) and has a ball-hoop (34) having a frontal narrow opening (38). When the ball is tossed through the ball-hoop, the attached line follows and falls through the opening (38). Whether a player makes a basket or misses, all that is necessary to retrieve the ball (20) is to pull the line (14). Thus, the player can remain at the original shooting position. The tetherball game features a safety pole-clip (50) designed to slip down the pole (12) if a force of over five pounds is applied. Therefore, if the line becomes entangled around a child's neck, the line will come down avoiding harm. The target-board game also has a clip-on target-board (60) having a VELCRO.RTM. target-face (62). A safe projectile (70) having a VELCRO front section (74) is used to toss at the target-face (62).
Abstract:
An aerodynamic dart toy for amusement of children and adults includes a dart body having a blunt magnetic nose and a lightweight aerodynamic body formed in one piece by selective folding of a die cut flat sheet material. The device can be manually propelled over a significant distance to strike a metal target and attach itself thereto.

Abstract:
The dart board game includes a dart, a target board having a target face, and cooperating elements for retaining, on the target face, a removably mounted marker on the dart. Such cooperating elements can consist of cooperating "Velcro" strip material. The dart includes a resilient and flexible portion at which the dart body is removably engaged with the marker, so that upon impact of the dart against the target board, the resilient portion of the dart flexes to allow the Velcro strip to engage without disengagement due to bouncing. This flexing motion compresses the resilient portion, which, as it expands, propels the dart body away from the target board to disengage the dart from the marker. In playing one embodiment of the game, in order for the "score" of a marker to count, the player throwing the dart must catch the rebounding dart body after an impact on the target board.
Abstract:
A dart game providing marking of the hit or impact point of each of a plurality of separate darts on a target wherein each dart has an end portion having a target marker separably mounted thereon. The target and each of the target markers have respective cooperating portions adapted to retain each target marker on the target at the point of impact of the dart while the dart separates therefrom. Each of the target markers is provided with a textile covering having a surface of pile fabric covering both of its faces. In this manner a second marker can be retained on the backside of a first marker while the front side engages the target.
