Abstract: An anti-rotation thumb rest providing advantages that allow for non-destructive and unobtrusive installation on firearms that would otherwise not be able to accommodate a thumb rests. The thumb rest may be constructed by attaching or manufacturing a long cylindrical pin onto the back side of a thumb rest, as to serve as a trigger pin, locking block pin, or other pin used for securing pistol components internally together, while also providing a typically rectangular, square, circular, or irregular shaped protrusion that serves as an anti-rotation stop for installation in a typically unused recess in the firearm's receiver, that was not expressly designed for installing components.

Abstract: A buffer tube for a firearm can include a body defining an interior cavity for receiving a buffer spring and a rail disposed on and/or formed from the outer surface of the body. The rail can include one or more pin holes configured to receive a pin of a stock to lock the stock in a position. The buffer tube can also include a slide bar channel defined through at least a portion of the rail and configured to allow a slide bar to slide therein relative to the one or more pin holes to urge a pin out of a respective pin hole and/or to block a pin from being received by the pin holes.

Abstract: A firearm recoil system replaces a traditional slide of a fire arm to mitigate the recoil from the discharging an automatic firearm. The firearm recoil system includes a firearm, a first slide weight, a second slide weight, and a recoil transfer actuator. The first slide weight and the second slide weight are slideably engaged with a frame of the firearm. The first slide weight is slotted over a barrel of the firearm. The second slide weight is slotted over a bolt carrier of the firearm. As an ammunition round is ignited, the bolt is depressed causing the recoil transfer actuator to be displaced and redirects the force of the recoil into the first slide weight and the second slide weight. The first slide weight and the second slide weight translate away from the recoil transfer actuator to compensate for the recoil of the firearm.

Abstract: A recoil reduction system for a firearm. In some embodiments, the recoil reduction includes buffer tube housed within a buttstock, and a deformable structure for setting a clearance tolerance between the buffer tube and the buttstock to reduce lateral play while enabling smooth translation therebetween. In some embodiments, a guide pin and/or skid projections provide interference between the sliding components of the recoil reduction system when in a battery configuration, while releasing the interference during a recoil event.

Abstract: Composite recoil-absorbing stocks for firearms are disclosed. One stock has a rigid body that has an internal cavity. A compressible insert may be positioned in the rigid body with an elongated front end that is narrower than a broadened rear end. The front end is positioned in a narrowed front end of the internal cavity, and the rear end is positioned in a wider rear end of the cavity. When the firearm recoils, the compressible insert can be positioned between the shooter and the rest of the firearm and can therefore dampen and absorb recoil forces. The positioning and size of the rigid body and compressible insert help prevent bending and buckling of the compressible insert, thereby limiting the effect that the compression of the insert has on aiming and accuracy of the shot. Other embodiments and related methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: A recoil control system includes a base portion having a main body with a flat bottom surface; a slide portion having a main body with a flat upper surface; at least one structure providing a sliding interface between the base portion and the slide portion such that the slide portion is slidingly engaged with, and can move forward and backward with respect to, the base portion; and a damper in communication with the slide portion. The recoil control system provides sliding interface between at least a portion of a firearm and at least a portion of a support used with the firearm and reduces the possibility of the support hopping or bouncing during recoil.

Abstract: A buttstock assembly configured to work in conjunction with a compact buffer assembly consisting of a buffer tube, spring and bolt carrier with an integral buffer is provided. The buttstock assembly, buffer tube and bolt carrier are configured to work with AR15/M16 type firearms and their derivatives. By incorporating the buffer onto the bolt carrier, which is used in conjunction with a buffer tube of reduced length, the overall length of the host firearm is reduced by approximately 3.2 inches. No permanent modification need be made to the host firearm in order to utilize the compact buffer assembly and buttstock assembly disclosed herein.

Abstract: A firearm grip includes first and second ends, a gap between the first and second ends, and a bolt aperture extending from the first end to the gap. The first end receives a firearm receiver. The bolt aperture receives a bolt to attach the firearm grip to the firearm receiver. The gap may be a thumbhole. The bolt aperture may extend through an upper portion of the firearm grip. A method of assembling a firearm includes positioning a firearm receiver adjacent to a first end of a firearm grip and positioning a bolt within a bolt aperture of the firearm grip. The bolt extends into the firearm receiver. The firearm receiver may be a shotgun receiver. The bolt may be inserted into the bolt aperture through a gap in the firearm grip. The bolt may be countersunk within a surface of the gap.
