Abstract:
A fuel filter assembly incorporates a BLDC motor and control circuit configured to operate at a first rotational speed upon startup and switch to a second rotational speed when measured variables indicate that the filter assembly is filled with fuel. The first rotational speed is initiated as a default when power is applied to the control circuit. If the filter assembly has been serviced, it must be primed before resuming normal operation. The first rotational speed is significantly higher than the second rotational speed to reduce the amount of time necessary to prime the filter assembly. The control circuit is arranged to monitor a variable which corresponds to the torque necessary to drive the pump. When the pump is filled with air prior to priming, lower torque is required to drive the pump, which corresponds to lower current draw and power consumption at the BLDC motor.
Abstract:
An apparatus for direct gasoline injection in a piston engine, which has a hydraulic valve control system with hydraulically actuated gas exchange valves. The direct gasoline injection is associated with the hydraulic valve control system via a pressure booster for two different pressure media, which is acted upon by hydraulic oil from a high-pressure hydraulic oil reservoir of the hydraulic valve control system and which subjects a high-pressure fuel reservoir to high pressure; injection valves for direct gasoline injection in the piston engine are connected to the high-pressure fuel reservoir.

A vane pump includes: a rotor that is coupled with a rotation shaft to rotate; a plurality of vanes that are slidably held by a plurality of vane grooves which are disposed in a radiation direction in an outer circumferential portion of the rotor; a cam ring that is arranged to surround the rotor and the plurality of vanes; and a side plate that covers the cam ring and includes a supply unit which supplies a working fluid into the cam ring between the cam ring, an outer circumference of the side plate being recessed to a radially inner side of the rotation shaft to form the supply unit, in which an outer circumference of the supply unit and an inner circumference of the cam ring are shaped along each other.
Abstract:
An internal combustion engine has a pressure accumulator, a high-pressure pump, a controllable actuator, and camshaft. The high-pressure pump includes a pump piston movably arranged in a cylinder chamber. The pump piston is supported on the camshaft and thus influences an open volume of the cylinder chamber depending on a rotation of the camshaft. The cylinder chamber is hydraulically coupled to the pressure accumulator to pump the fluid into the pressure accumulator. The actuator drives the camshaft such that the camshaft rotates about the camshaft's longitudinal axis in a specified angular range. The high-pressure pump is controlled prior to an expected motor start such that the high-pressure pump is in a self-priming operating state and the actuator is controlled such that the camshaft rotates about the camshaft longitudinal axis in the specified angular range at least once in a first direction and at least once in an opposite second direction.
Abstract:
A ring impeller includes a central hub with a first row of vanes extending from the hub and a second row of vanes extending from the hub adjacent to and staggered from the first row of vanes. The vanes in each row are grouped to form adjacent vane pairs and a partition wall is positioned between each of the vanes within the vane pairs. A rib extends radially from the hub in alignment with the partition wall and is positioned between each vane pair. The bottom thickness of the partition wall is the same thickness as the rib. The partition wall includes a reduced material area at its forward and rear edges. The vanes in the first row are unevenly spaced and the vanes in the second row are spaced equidistantly between the vanes in the first row. The spacing of the vanes in the first row may be about 70% to about 140% of a spacing equal to an equal spacing. Some of the vanes may have a height that is less than the height of other vanes.
Abstract:
A supply pump for continuously supplying pressurized fuel to an accumulator-type injector system employs an electrically controlled metering valve for regulating the supply of fuel to the pump chamber. The output pressure of the pressurized fuel from the pump is regulated by means of a relief valve assembly. The inlet metering valve also controls the operation of the relief valve assembly. The relief valve assembly comprises a hydraulically controlled piston which selectively controls the position of a valve member for releasing pressurized fuel from the outlet portion of the pump so that the pressurized fuel in the injection system may be regulated by controlling the fuel supply to the pump chamber and by also releasing pressurized fuel from the pressurized injection system.
