    摘要: A hot fluid expansion engine has a plurality of actuator modules arranged in a star configuration around a central shaft. Each module includes a drive piston defining a working chamber of variable volume in the first enclosure; a movable displacement piston subdividing a second enclosure into a low temperature chamber of variable volume and a high temperature chamber of variable volume with the high temperature chamber communicating with a unit of a fluid heater device and the low temperature chamber communicating with the working chamber; and a fluid circulation circuit extending between the fluid heater device and the working chamber. The drive piston and the displacement piston of each actuator module are connected to the central shaft via respective first and second eccentric transmission devices suitable for imparting reciprocating motion in translation to each of the pistons with a phase lag of 90°.

    摘要: A drive mechanism for a Stirling engine includes a piston rod, a displacer rod, a first crankshaft and a second crankshaft. The piston rod has a first end and a second end. The first end of the piston rod is configured to be coupled to a power piston of the Stirling engine. The displacer rod has a first end and a second end, the first end being configured to be coupled to a displacer piston of the Stirling engine. A rhombic drive mechanism comprises a plurality of pivotally connected connection members. The rhombic drive mechanism is configured to convert the linear movement of the piston rod to rotational movement of the first and second crankshaft and to convert linear movement of the piston rod to movement of the displacer rod. A guide is configured to substantially prevent lateral motion while allowing axial movement of at least one of the displacer rod and the piston rod.

    摘要: The invention is for the prevention of power piston overstroke in a Stirling cycle machine, wherein there is a gas valve which vents the gas spring acting upon the displacer. The valve and its accompanying control system switch on a leak in the gas spring to vent the gas spring upon piston stroke beyond a selected magnitude. This reduces the spring constant which reduces the displacer amplitude and phase lead over the power piston and thereby reduces power output.

    摘要: A double acting, miller cycle, reciprocating piston with dual rotary displacer, stirling engine is provided. Configurable as a heat pump, a heat engine, or as a combination with one side driving the other, the engine is completely closed, sealed and pressurized with the piston ring as the only internal seal. A miller cycle is created by allowing transfer of the working fluid (typically hydrogen gas) past the piston to balance working fluid pressure only at the extremes of the piston stroke. Two coordinated rotating displacers service opposite sides of one piston. Each displacer manages heat flow, according it its length and shape, through one side of the length of its encasing tube into and out of the working fluid through the other side of the length of its encasing tube. The dead space between the piston and the displacer holds regenerator material.

The Stirling engine may have a power piston and a main displacer coupled to a camshaft by means of a 90°-dwell positive return cam and yoke system. The Stirling engine achieves gaseous working fluid displacement using the main displacer and the co-displacer. The co-displacer alternately locks between the main displacer and the power piston, which enables the main displacer to displace a different volume of gaseous working fluid during a cooling phase of the Stirling cycle than during a heating phase of the Stirling cycle.
