Abstract:
A latch assembly connected to the drive unit of a bi-fold door for retaining the bi-fold door secure to a building has elongated straps attached to rotatable latch drums mounted on the outer ends of the drive shaft of the drive unit. Lift drums powered by a motor driven gearbox raise and lower the bi-fold door. Latch assemblies having springs attached to the straps maintain tension on the straps during the opening and closing of the bi-fold door.
Abstract:
An automated window mechanism has a motor that moves a sliding window along a frame to open and close the window. A position sensor, such as an encoder, monitors a position of the sliding window relative to the frame. The automated window mechanism can receive an instruction to calibrate to the frame by disengaging the motor while the position sensor remains engaged. The user then manually moves the sliding window between two end points and then reengages the motor. The position sensor records the end points, and then the automated window mechanism uses the end points as limits of movement for the sliding window.
Abstract:
A novel electric door opener for a garage, or equivalent structure, which uses a rail fixed at one end to a drive assembly and the other end to a mounting support, in which the drive assembly is mounted on the wall over the garage doorway with a pivotable mount, rather than the uniform practice wherein the drive assembly is suspended from the garage ceiling, thus significantly enhancing safety during installation and over the lifetime of the unit. In addition, the means whereby prior art rail type garage door openers, including their drive assemblies and overall mounting methods, are redesigned to reduce the invention to practice. The simplification of mounting hardware and process with this design makes it much easier and safer to install, remove, and replace an assembled rail type garage door opener, using only three removable pins.
Abstract:
A drive unit for a door includes a guiding device comprising guide rail and a guide element extending in a movement direction of the door. A drive device arranged inside a carriage moves back and forth along the guide rail and is engaged in the guide element. The drive unit is supplied with power via the guide rail and the guide element. Electrical plug connectors are provided on an external power source for the electrical connection of the guide element and the guide rail.
Abstract:
A system includes a rechargeable battery backup for a barrier movement operator. A barrier movement operator controls the movement of a moveable barrier. The barrier movement operator has a head unit to command the moveable barrier to perform moveable barrier functions. The head unit is supplied power by a power source. A battery charging station is in electrical communication with at least one rechargeable battery and in electrical communication with the head unit to supply power to the at least one rechargeable battery. Circuitry is electrically connected to the battery charging station to supply power from the at least one rechargeable battery to the head unit. The system also includes electrically powered equipment comprising an apparatus for receiving the at least one rechargeable battery. The electrically powered equipment is adapted to be powered by the at least one rechargeable battery to perform a predetermined function.
Abstract:
The sun shade operation device 100 of the present invention includes a drive unit M; at least one shaft 1 directly or indirectly transmitted with a rotary torque generated by the drive unit M; a plurality of gears 2 integrally rotating with the shaft 1 with the one shaft 1 as center of rotation; a plurality of control cables 41, 42, 43 for engaging with the gears 2 and moving in a longitudinal direction with the rotational movement of the gears 2; and an accommodation body for accommodating one end of the shaft 1 and the plurality of gears 2, and through which the plurality of control cables pass. Furthermore, the accommodation body has a member 32 formed with a space for passing axially adjacent control cables interposed between a pair of sandwiching members 31, 33.
Abstract:
A motorized operator for moving a barrier, such as an upward acting garage door, between open and closed positions includes a support mounted adjacent one of a pair of barrier guide tracks or along a barrier counterbalance shaft and a drive mechanism mounted on the support and engaged with an elongated flexible member, such as a chain, cable or cog belt. A cog belt, for example, is connected to a drawbar connected to the barrier at one end and the belt is either connected directly to the barrier at the opposite end or to a storage reel supported for rotation on and with a shaft of a barrier counterbalance mechanism. The storage reel may include a spiral groove and be supported on the counterbalance shaft for axial translation to receive and dereel the belt as the barrier is moved between open and closed positions. One or more belt tensioning pulleys may be mounted on the support.
Abstract:
This sliding sash drive assembly includes a rack gear for the sash and a drive unit adapted to be mounted on the window frame and having a driven spur gear. An L-shaped engagement lever is mounted at its vertex on the housing and carries on its short leg a rack guide adapted to embrace the rack gear so that, as the long leg of the lever is moved, the guide moves the rack to a position at which the rack meshes with the spur.
Abstract:
Described herein is a door assembly that includes a flexible panel of flexible plate material which is guided in channels between a closed position to an opened position; the flexible panel assuming a substantially horizontal position in the open position and thereby increases the height clearance in the door opening.
Abstract:
An opening-closing mechanism for a hinged panel or sectional overhead garage door which is located laterally along the top door panel and has an integrally associated electric motor and speed reduction drive component located mediate of and for a direct reaction with opposed vertical and horizontal gear and roller guide tracks having a specific curvature in the area of transition movement of door panels from vertical to horizontal.
