Abstract:
A portable, insulated shelter consists of flexible inner and outer layers, lightweight fabric panels located therebetween, and connected to each other, a suitable support frame, and a system, such as a HVAC unit and a suitable connector, for actively controlling the interior environment of the shelter. The shelter may be used to protect and provide livable conditions in harsh, remote locations. Methods of selectively installing and removing the fabric panels are also provided, along with methods of setting up and disassembling the shelter.
Abstract:
An inflatable exercise chamber (100) for performing exercise therein, the inflatable exercise chamber comprising (100): one or more walls (102) defining an enclosed space, wherein the wall (102) comprises an inner membrane (110, 210) and an outer membrane (112) defining an inflatable cavity (114) therebetween, wherein the inner membrane (110) of the wall is a gas-permeable membrane (210).
Abstract:
A tent having a liner and liner including a dead air space region inhibiting convective heat transfer is provided. The dead air space region is provided between first and second layers of the liner. A plurality of dead air space regions may be provided that are separated by baffles. The one or more dead air space regions may include air relief slits that permit selective fluid communication between the surroundings and the dead air space regions to inflate and deflate the dead air space regions. The dead air space regions can be depressurized and/or gravity filling. The dead air space regions are provided, at least, proximate the roof sections of the liner of the tent.
Abstract:
Fire-resistant structures, fire-resistant insulations and a method for fire-proofing and fire-protection of permanent or temporary structures or objects. The fire-resistant insulation withstands temperatures between 1200° C. and 2000° C. on the exterior side of the insulation, and the interior side provides a shield for fire-protected structure or object against temperatures not exceeding 300° C. A method for fire-protection comprises steps of providing a fire-protection for structures and objects subjected to fires, brush-fires or fire storms.
Abstract:
A double wall fabric panel unit for use as a wall section in the construction of inflatable buildings comprising an elongated exterior fabric envelope panel having a plastic coating on each side, and an elongated thermal liner panel having side edge strips heat-sealed to the exterior panel. The thermal liner has a foil layer facing the exterior panel and a white plastic layer on the opposite side. The side edge strips are periodically interrupted to provide air passageways to vent air from between the panels when the unit is rolled.
Abstract:
A structure is disclosed which is particularly suitable for isolating individuals from all types of environmental stimuli. The structure is portable and includes a inflatable housing having a liquid containing portion at the base thereof. A high density liquid, such as a salt saturated water solution, is placed in the water containing compartment to provide a floatation pool which can accommodate human beings. A temperature control system is provided for maintaining the interior at a constant temperature, and a system is also provided for supplying fresh breathing air and for purifying the fluid.
Abstract:
A portable structure including a solar shade is disclosed. The portable structure includes a frame comprising at least two beams, a main panel extending between the at least two beams, and a solar shade. The solar shade includes at least one solar shade panel spaced above the main panel by at least one inflatable beam to create a space between the solar shade panel and the main panel. The space creates an insulative layer to help regulate an interior temperature of the portable structure.
Abstract:
A portable shelter with low emissivity is provided for sheltering materials or human occupants at a remote location. The shelter has a flexible, multi-layer cover, including a vinyl material, reflective material located inside and immediately adjacent to the vinyl material, and insulation material located inside the reflective material. The low-ε vinyl cover is lightweight and thermally efficient. The shelter may be adapted for use with interior-climate control equipment at the remote location.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an article (1) of the tent or shelter type including a roof element (2) at least partially covering a shelter area (3), said roof element including a main flexible panel (4) having opposite outer (4a) and inner (4b) faces, the inner face (4b) being intended during operation to be oriented across from said shelter area (3). Characteristically, the inner face (4b) has an emissivity rate (%) of far infrared rays lower than the emissivity rate (%) of far infrared rays of the outer face (4a).
Abstract:
A bivouac shelter for residing outdoors, including a basis unit that forms a tunnel-like or sack-like body receiving space with an access opening for a person. The bivouac shelter includes a closure unit, by way of which the body receiving space is closable in a thermally insulating and airtight manner. The closure unit moreover includes a connection body that can be assembled transversely over the access opening and that is connectable to the basis unit in a thermally insulating manner. The closure unit moreover includes a hood attached onto the connection body for receipt of a head of a person lying with the body in the body receiving space. The basis unit can also include a foot-side terminating element.
