Abstract:
Non-fluorocarbon compositions for providing enhanced fluid repellency on various surfaces, including for laundry treatments in a finishing step of a laundry process, are disclosed. Non-fluorocarbon laundry treatment compositions and compositions including the non-fluorocarbon chemistries and a substrate surface are also disclosed along with methods of using the same in a laundry application.
Abstract:
A fabric treatment composition including a sizing agent and a silicone solvent is provided. The sizing agent is a hydrogenated rosin ester. The silicone solvent is a volatile silicone solvent. Optionally, co-solvents and dispersing agents may be included. A method of treating a fabric article and the treated fabric article are provided.

Abstract:
A method of laundering a fabric load is disclosed including the steps of processing a fabric load in an aqueous-based working fluid, substantially replacing the aqueous-based working fluid with a non-aqueous working fluid of the type which extracts some of the aqueous-based working fluid from the fabric load.
Abstract:
A dry cleaning process for in-home dry cleaning comprising a low-aqueous dry cleaning step of contacting a laundry article with a low-aqueous dry cleaning composition, wherein said composition comprises a non-flammable, non-chlorine containing organic dry cleaning solvent, water and surfactant, whereby the water to cloth ratio (w/w) is less than 0.45 and the water to surfactant ratio (w/w) is at most 1.5, wherein said organic dry cleaning solvent is selected from hydrofluorocarbon, hydrofluoroether and siloxane solvent.

Abstract:
Stained areas (2) of fabric are separately treated with a non-aqueous cleaning composition, followed by an aqueous cleaning composition, and by using a hand-held device (1) which is rocked back and forth on said stained areas (2). The fabric (3) is then placed in a bag or other container, together with a sheet substrate releasably containing an aqueous cleaning composition. The bag is tumbled in a hot air clothes dryer to clean and refresh the entire fabric (3).
Abstract:
A process for bleaching fabrics or garments which produces a uniformly colored product with relatively few, less pronounced streaks is disclosed. The process requires fewer steps and increases efficiency over previous processes, while at the same time decreases the number of excessively streaked products which do not satisfy quality control standards. A preferred embodiment of the process, suited to denim fabrics or garments, comprises the steps of desizing the fabric or garment, and thereafter, without turning garments, immersing the fabric or garment in an aqueous solution containing from about 0.01 to about 10 grams per liter of a polyacrylic acid, and then adding a bleaching agent to the aqueous solution to produce a bleach bath. The fabric or garment is maintained in the bleach bath for a time sufficient to bleach the fabric or garment.
