    摘要： An attachment for sewing machines for folding and pressing seam plies for sleeves, trousers and the like having a pair of endless belts or tapes between which the cloth being sewn is carried. After the seam has been sewn, the cloth is carried forwardly into the path of a V-shaped seam opening member which causes the seam plies to be separated, be positioned at right angle to the cloth and lie on either side of the seam in a common plane. Upon being carried further forwardly, the seam plies engages a seam folding member which guides and folds over the seam plies from their right angle position to a flattened position against the cloth whereby the seam plies lie in substantially the same plane as the two layers of cloth after which the heated rollers and a hot air blower presses the four layers of cloth in superimposed contact relation. A floating bow-like member positioned between the endless tapes supports the two layers of cloth as the seam is folded and permits the sewing of a seam to be sewn along both edges of a trouser leg portion.

    摘要： A simple and compact garment seam pressing apparatus which is used in conjunction with a conventional sewing machine. A pressing head and a roller, one being mounted for pivotal motion with respect to the other, mate and cooperate so as to press a seam after it is sewn. The presser may be manufactured for attachment to and detachment from an existing sewing machine, or constructed integrally within an otherwise conventional sewing machine. The roller may be motor driven and the pressing surface may be electrically heated. The placement of the invention at the sewing machine allows the user to press a seam without leaving the sewing machine. The body of the sewing machine is used to shield the user from inadvertent contact with the pressing head, thereby eliminating the danger of burns.

    摘要： In the method, binding tape is fed through a puller assembly in a flat orientation from a source, such as a binding reel assembly. The binding tape is received by a folder assembly via the puller assembly and is folded so as to change orientation of the binding tape from a flat orientation to an orientation that wraps around the edge of the material product. The re-oriented tape is stitched to the material product edge with thread, and for any remaining loose binding or thread, a sealer assembly simultaneously binds the binding tape and thread so as to produce a finished edge. The sealer assembly may include a heated blade that simultaneously cuts and thermally fuses the binding tape to the thread.
