摘要： A clamping device and method for a conventional sewing or embroidery machine has a pair of movable arms. Each of the arms includes a fixed section and a movable section for receiving material or item to be embroidered therebetween. A manual lever allows the movable arm to be raised for insertion of the material and a scale on the arm allows the depth of insertion to be easily determined for accurate insertion. Each arm is movable along a slotted mounting plate affixed to the sewing machine proximate the sewing head. The clamping device provides uniform, taut material for accurate, smooth embroidering.

摘要： A fabric guide device for a sewing machine has an upper plate and a middle plate, and is disposed at the fabric feed side of the presser foot of the sewing machine. The upper plate is disposed on the sewing machine bed in a state of keeping a certain clearance from the sewing machine bed, and its fabric feed side portion is warped upward. The middle plate is disposed beneath said warped portion of the upper plate, and is free to project and retreat from and into the sewing machine bed. The middle plate has upper and lower surfaces for guiding the upper and lower bodies. When sewing said bodies together, first the middle plate projects from the sewing machine bed to insert between the bodies. Then the bodies are pulled forward, and the over-edge chain stitching portions are engaged with the middle plate to be tilted to the fabric feed side. In the tilted state, the bodies are further pulled to the front side, and the over-edge chain stitching portions are positioned beneath the presser foot, and then the presser foot is lowered to start sewing operation.

摘要： A preparation station including a fabric support plate, a folding plate and a positioning support for a flap of a flap pocket. The fabric part to which the pocket is to be connected, is supported by the fabric support plate. The flap, and possibly the pocket cut are lined at the preparation station. The pocket cut can also be placed into its folded position by the preparation station. The fabric part, with the pocket cut, if present, and the pocket flap are then moved by a fabric holder to a sewing machine with a sewing position. There, the pocket cut can be sewn onto the fabric part if desired. The pocket flap is in a rotated position, which is angularly spaced by approximately 180.degree. from a final position of the pocket flap. The pocket flap can then be connected to the fabric part by a fastening seam. A turning strip turns over the flap, in cooperation with a folding strip, and another seam connects the flap to the fabric part in its final position. In another embodiment, the folding strip can hold the rough cut end of the pocket flap against the fabric part, and the turning strip turns the remainder of the flap into the final position, where the flap is connected to the fabric part by one or two seams.

The apparatus includes a combining fixture for holding the panels such that the edges to be joined hang freely in the combining fixture. A staging mechanism engages the edges of the panels to be joined and disposes the edges in overlapping relationship with one another. A sewing apparatus is insertable into the combining fixture for sewing the edges of the panels together while the panels are held in the combining fixture. Finally, the apparatus includes means for movably mounting the sewing apparatus for reciprocal movement between a retracted position and an extended position with respect to the combining fixture.

摘要： An apparatus for aligning the cross-seams of similar lateral edges of two composite limp material segments, where each composite limp material segment includes two panels joined at a cross-seam extending transversely from corresponding points in the lateral edges-to-be-aligned. Following alignment of the cross-seams of the lateral edges, the segments are fed from the apparatus with the lateral edges and corresponding points of the cross-seams in overlapping alignment. Thereafter, the aligned edges may be joined using a conventional sewing machine.

Each material setting/transfer assembly comprises a sewing portion setting mechanism fixed on the base which is able to position portions of the material to be sewn including tucking ends; a transfer mechanism mounted on the base movably between this sewing portion setting mechanism and the sewing device; and a tuck-in mechanism movably attached on the base for approaching to and retreating from the sewing portion setting mechanism. The tuck-in mechanism serves to fold the tucking ends in for forming the portions to be sewn into tucked sewing portions in cooperation with the sewing portion setting mechanism, so that the transfer mechanism continues to hold these tucked sewing portions together with the tuck-in mechanism until, at least, the tucked sewing portions are released from the sewing portion setting mechanism for enabling the transfer mechanism to carry the tucked sewing portions to the sewing device.
