摘要: A gob forming device for forming a gob that is fed into a mold for molding a glass product after adjusting the gob to an optimum weight and shape, the gob forming device comprising: one or two cameras 71,72 configured to capture one or more images of a gob in the falling path of the gob, the gob being obtained by cutting molten glass extruded from a circular orifice 11 of a gob feeder 1; an image processor 70 configured to perform image processing to measure the weight of the gob and feature values of the gob based on the one or more 2-D images of the gob captured by the one or two cameras, the feature values defining the shape of the gob, the weight and the feature values being measured by approximating the shape of the gob's cross section in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction as a circle or ellipse and; drive mechanisms 40, 50, and 64 to 66 configured to individually drive respective adjustment mechanisms to adjust the gob to achieve a desired weight and shape; a storage device configured to store, as reference data, a standard weight of the gob and an optimum value of each of the feature values of the gob; and a control device 8 configured to drive the drive mechanisms 40, 50, and 64 to 66 so that the drive mechanisms operate to ensure that the difference between the weight of the gob measured by the image processor 70 and the corresponding reference data stored in the storage device is an acceptable value and the differences between the feature values of the gob measured by the image processor 70 and the corresponding reference data stored in the storage device are acceptable values.

摘要: On a glassware molding machine, a molten glass rope travelling in a feed direction is cut crosswise into at least one glass gob by supplying thermal energy to the cutting portion of the rope by means of a heating head, so as to locally alter the viscosity of the rope and detach the gob.

摘要: The invention relates to a manufacturing apparatus for simultaneously making different hollow glass products having different gob sizes comprising at least one feed apparatus (12), that has at least one glass reservoir (14), at least one plunger (18a, b), and at least one appurtenant cutting device (24a, b) in the discharge from the reservoir, at least one conveying means (28) to successively transport at least one of the gobs discharged from the feed apparatus (12) into a plurality of shape-imparting units (32a–c) disposed next to each other for variously sized gobs, at least one controller (22) to control the plunger (18a, b) and the cutting device (24a, b) of the feed apparatus (12), the conveying means (28), and the shape-imparting units (32a–c), and said controller (22) controls the activity of the shape-imparting units (32a–c), the feed apparatus (12), and the conveying means (28) in coordination with the gob-size-specific processing time of the products in the shape-imparting units (32a–c) or their cycle time, and the controller (22) is embodied in such a way that, when it determines that the feed times of at least two shape-imparting units (32a–c) will coincide, or if the interval between the times that two of the shape-imparting units (32a–c) are fed will be less than the time necessary for a feed operation, the feeding of one of the shape-imparting units (32a–c) that is to be fed will be delayed and shifted to a subordinate available time window that is long enough to allow the feeding of the not-yet-fed shape-imparting unit(s) to be performed. The invention also relates to a manufacturing process for hollow glass products that uses the said apparatus. Glass products having different masses can be made simultaneously in a single manufacturing apparatus.

摘要: The present invention provides a quality control method and a quality control apparatus for use in the formation of a glass product. A feeder mechanism cuts a column-like molten glass pushed out through an orifice thereof into a glass gob and allows each glass gob to fall with gravity from the orifice. A predetermined glass product is formed from the glass gob after delivering the fallen glass gob to a predetermined position. According to the present invention, the glass gob produced by the feeder mechanism is observed by a plurality of optical observing means spaced apart from each other during a falling process of the glass gob, and three-dimensional coordinates data of the entire surface of the glass gob is generated. Measurement data relating to at least one of a volume, a weight, a surface shape, a length, a thickness, an angle in a falling direction, and a cut surface shape of the glass gob is produced based on the three-dimensional coordinates data. The presence or absence of a defect in the quality of the glass gob is detected by comparing the measurement data with quality standard data of a normal glass gob. A causal relationship between at least one of the operational factors of the feeder mechanism and the quality defect is determined depending on the type of quality defect identified.
