The method may include the steps of supplying a kit having a plurality of lock levers for installation in association with a filling machine, with the plurality of lock levers comprising a regular size lock lever with a first dimension associated with the height of the engagement surface relative to the axis of rotation of the lever, and at least one other lock size lever having a second dimension associated with the height of the engagement surface relative to the axis of rotation of the lever. The second dimension is a reduced or increased dimension relative to the first dimension. The at least one other lock size lever enables use thereof to accommodate any difference in positioning of an associated lift platform of the machine from a predetermined height relative to the filling valve of the machine, with the second dimension substantially correcting the height to the predetermined height. The regular size and other size lock levers may include an L-shaped configuration with a first and second leg, with the first and second leg being coupled by a corner portion. One of the first or second legs comprises an engagement surface at its distal end. The transition from the engagement surface to the outer surface of the leg utilizes a first radius extending from the corner region and a second blending radius extending from the first radius to the engagement surface. The second radius may be less than the first radius so as to remove material from this region adjacent the engagement surface.
