    摘要: A dock leveler with a deck and an extendable lip that hangs pendant when the deck is in a stored position. A lip extension mechanism engages when the deck is raised to a raised or cocked position. As the deck is lowered to an intermediate transition position, the extension mechanism extends the lip to a fully extended position. At the transition position, the lip extension mechanism automatically disengages and a lip locking mechanism automatically and simultaneously locks and holds the lip in its fully extended position. When the deck is further lowered so that the lip comes to rest on a truck trailer, the locking mechanism automatically released or unlocked. The lip returns to its pendant position when the deck is raised from the truck bed. After the truck pulls away from the dock, the deck is lowered to its stored position.

    摘要: To permit below-dock level end-loading operations and to limit accidental freefalling of a dock leveler's deck, a dock leveler includes a unique support mechanism that employs one or more safety legs with an integral or operatively connected lip deflector. The support mechanism can be selectively moved to a deck-supporting position for freefall protection or moved to a lip-deflecting position for below dock level end-loading operations. In the deck-supporting position, the safety leg prevents the deck from falling an unsafe distance. In the lip-deflecting position, the lip deflector guides the descending motion of the dock leveler's lip extension plate so that the lip, while hanging pendant, can bypass and descend below a set of lip keepers.

    摘要: A self releasing holddown mechanism for a dock leveler includes an elongated bar member adapted for connection to a dock leveler ramp and engageable with a roller lock member mounted on a body connected to an anchor rod which is connected at one end to the dock leveler frame. The anchor rod includes a release plate mounted thereon including adjustable stop members. The release plate is mounted for adjustment with respect to the rod. A coil spring is sleeved over the rod and engageable with the release plate and the body which includes an elongated tube journaling the spring. A release actuator is mounted for pivotal movement on the body and is connected to the roller lock member to move the lock member between positions for forcible engagement with the bar member and to release the bar member. The release actuator may also be operated at will.

    摘要: A dock leveler includes a pivotally mounted ramp and a lip member pivotally mounted to the distal end of the ramp and moveable between an extended position and a depending position for forming a path between a loading dock and a loadbed of a vehicle. A motor operated linear power screw type actuator is connected to the ramp for moving the ramp to an elevated position and includes an extensible tube member which is engageable with a second tube in telescoped relationship in such a way that the actuator tube may be controlled to be retracted after positioning the ramp to engage the loadbed of a vehicle so that the actuator is not subject to forces exerted by the ramp during oscillatory movement while the vehicle is being loaded or unloaded. In one alternate embodiment the actuator is connected to an intermediate link to allow the pivotal movement of the ramp without exerting damaging forces on the actuator. The lip may be extended by a toggle linkage responsive to movement of the ramp from an elevated position to a declined position in engagement with the loadbed and a latch mechanism is operable to hold the ramp in an extended position until the loadbed is engaged. Ramp support legs are retractable to allow further declining movement of the ramp and are actuatable by a spring connected to a linkage which is moveable to positions to change the direction of spring biasing forces acting to retract and extend the legs.

    摘要: A dockboard includes a ramp which is hinged at its rear edge to a loading dock and a lip is hinged to the front edge of the ramp and can be pivoted from a downwardly hanging pendant position to an extended position generally flush with the ramp surface. The ramp is moved from a horizontal position to an upwardly inclined position by a counterbalancing spring assembly and a hydraulic holddown prevents upward movement of the ramp unless manually released. A return-to-dock-level mechanism includes a link that is pivotally connected to the underside of the ramp and an arm interconnects the link with the lip. If the ramp is at a below-dock-level position when a truck pulls away from the dock after loading operation is completed, the lip will fall to its pendant position and the downward movement of the lip is transmitted through the link and arm to pivot the arm into engagement with the release lever of the holddown, thereby releasing the holddown to enable the ramp to be elevated through the counterbalancing spring assembly. As the ramp is elevated to dock-level, the link rides out of contact with the release lever causing the holddown to be re-engaged and prevent further upward movement of the ramp.
