Abstract: A system for remotely opening an access hatch of storage tank includes an elongate arm having a proximal end configured to be operatively coupled to a lid of the access hatch and a distal end extendable past an outer perimeter of the storage tank, and a pull cable attached to the arm at the distal end and being extendable toward a ground surrounding the storage tank. Pulling on the pull cable releases a latch that secures the lid to a base of the access hatch and allows the lid to pivot from a closed position to an open position.

Abstract: A fluid impervious wall skin provides an interstitial space. The wall is formed from a composite material, the composite material comprising a plurality of layers including:, a first layer of flexible material having adhesive on at least one surface thereof for attachment to a structural wall; a layer comprising a spacer; and a second layer of flexible material; the layers of the composite material are attached a structural wall and one to the other by adhesive between adjacent layers, and the spacer provides the interstitial space N between the said first and second layers of flexible material within the said composite material. The second flexible layer comprises heavier than the second weight, wherein the each overlapping sheet presents a free edge, and the tape is positioned over the free edge is attached to the overlapping and the overlapped sheet of woven fibreglass fabric of the first weight, and a solvent free epoxy coating applied to the surface of the second flexible layer that is distal from the structural wall, which coating cures to form a hard fluid impervious layer.

Abstract: The world's cargo is transported in shipping containers. Historically, there has been little visibility into cargo once it goes inside a container. Moisture-sensitive cargo is often damaged in transportation. The present disclosure involves a system for monitoring and predicting water damage in containers. Use of this system can enable pre-emptive action to lessen damage. Specific considerations of container transportation and availability of weather data give this problem unique characteristics, distinguishing it from generic monitoring. These considerations in turn motivate the solution framework presented here.

Abstract: A container for storing liquids includes an inner layer including a storage space for storing liquids; an outer layer; and multiple spacers fastened between the inner layer and the outer layer to form multiple compartments. The spacer includes a first surface and a second surface. The first surface is secured to an adhesive layer of the inner layer. The first surface has many cavities. The second surface is secured to the outer layer and having projections complimentarily secured to the cavities. A manufacturing method of the container is also provided. Therefore, it can solve the problem permeation and adhesive failure caused by leaking. It can generate an early alarm by detecting any leaking or permeation of the container.

Abstract: A storage tank includes a floor, a roof, a sidewall extending between the floor and the roof, an access hatch provided on the roof and having a base, a lid pivotably coupled to the base, and a latch configured to secure the lid to the base in a closed position, and a system for remotely opening and closing the access hatch. The system includes an elongate arm having a proximal end operatively coupled to the lid, a pull cable attached to a distal end of the elongate arm and extending toward a ground adjacent the storage tank, and a latching cable attached to the latch and extending toward the ground adjacent the storage tank, wherein pulling on the latching cable when the lid is in the closed position actuates the latch to secure the lid to the base in the closed position.
