摘要: Systems and methods for loading a cargo aircraft are described. The system includes at least one rail disposed in an interior cargo bay of a cargo aircraft that extends at an angle relative to an interior bottom contact surface of a forward portion of the interior cargo bay, through a kinked portion and an aft portion of the interior cargo bay. Payload-receiving fixtures are described that can be used in conjunction with the rail system, allowing for large cargo, such as wind turbine blades, to be transported by aircraft. Methods of loading a cargo aircraft can include advancing the large payload into the interior cargo bay of the aircraft such that at least one of the payload-receiving fixtures rises relative to a plane defined by the interior bottom contact surface of the forward portion of the interior cargo bay. Various systems, methods, components, and related tooling are also provided.

摘要: A unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) includes a fuselage body including a cavity that forms a cargo bay for transporting a payload, an upper access opening for receiving the payload into the cargo bay from a first direction, and a lower access opening for lowering the payload from the cargo bay. The UAV also includes an upper door associated with the upper access opening that is movable between a closed position in which the upper access opening is obstructed and an open position providing a path for the payload into the cargo bay. The upper door includes a winch configured to unwind or retract a tether secured to the payload.

摘要: A cargo restraint system includes a driving shaft, a first restraint, and a second restraint. The first restraint is operatively coupled to the driving shaft via a first indexing mechanism arrangement. The second restraint is operatively coupled to the driving shaft via a second indexing mechanism arrangement. The first and second indexing mechanism arrangements are arranged such that rotation of the driving shaft in a first rotational direction causes the first restraint to rotate between a lowered position and a raised position, and further rotation of the driving shaft in the same rotational direction causes the second restraint to rotate between the lowered position and the raised position. The first restraint may be axially offset from the second restraint to allow sequential loading and unloading of cargo.

摘要: A device for attaching an object to an attachment rail, particularly a seat rail, in an aircraft or spacecraft. A base part has a support surface to be placed onto an outer surface of the rail, and a locking element to partially protrude from the support surface along a line of protrusion. The base part and locking element are coupled or configured to be coupled wherein the locking element can be moved relative to the base part along the line of protrusion and rotated with respect to the base part. An end section of the locking element has a tip portion shaped in a dovetail-type manner. The device includes a tensioning arrangement for tensioning the locking element with respect to the rail. An arrangement includes such a device as well as an attachment rail with a rail main body and a plurality of bushes. A method for attaching an object, and a seat rail are disclosed.

摘要: An anchor rail for an aircraft floor includes an upper flange with a guideway and two flange wings. The rail is formed of a beam and of an anti-corrosion protection. The beam is formed at least of a body made from a first material and defining the lower stiffening structure and an upper platform. The anti-corrosion protection wholly covers an upper face of the upper platform and therewith constitutes the upper flange of the rail, thus layered. The anti-corrosion protection is at least formed of a protective sheet made of a second material more resistant to corrosion than the first material and selected from a metal and a fiber-reinforced plastic composite material. Such a rail exhibits good corrosion resistance for modest cost.

摘要: In an aircraft, bi-stable power drive units (PDUs) move and secure cargo within an aircraft cargo hold. Such a PDU includes a frame, by which the PDU is rigidly attached to the cargo hold floor; a body pivotably attached, via a hinge, at a first end of the frame at least one drive roller attached at a second end of the body; and an actuator attached to the body and which causes a pivoting angular movement of the body, relative to the frame, about the hinge. The actuator maintains an angular position of the body relative to the frame even upon a loss of power to the PDU. The body is movable between and including a retracted position and a deployed position. A cargo management system includes a plurality of such PDUs, at least one having a controlled area network (CAN) bus interface to control and communicate with a controller.

The first subset of keys can only engage with the first subset of cleats and the second subset of keys can only engage with the second subset of cleats and the rotatable fasteners utilize a rotary movement to secure the components of the cargo management system to a respective cleat, against which the rotary fastener is engaged.

The Load Transfer Structure transfers the weight of the item to members of the airframe, and is designed to accommodate loads during normal flight without restricting the designed movement of the airframe; however, under abnormal conditions such as a crash, the Load Transfer Structure engages members of the airframe to transfer loads thereto to secure the item.
