Abstract:
Provided is a lift table apparatus for log splitting. The lift table apparatus includes a lift frame, a lock pin, a control lever, and a cable. The lift frame is configured to be attached to a beam and a hydraulic cylinder of a log splitter. The lift frame is movable from a vertical position to a horizontal position by the hydraulic cylinder when the hydraulic cylinder is retracted. The lock pin is configured to be attached to the beam and locks the lift frame in the horizontal position. The control lever is configured to be attached to a hydraulic flow control valve of the log splitter. The cable is connected to the lock pin and the control lever. When the control lever is pulled out, the cable pulls the lock pin out to enable the lift frame to be released from the horizontal position and moved to the vertical position.

Abstract:
A log splitter apparatus and method for splitting logs includes an upward facing wedge and a shroud secured to the upward facing wedge. The shroud can have a positioning aperture defined therein that is positioned over the upward facing wedge to position an associated log on the upward facing wedge for splitting of the associated log by the upward facing wedge when a downward force is applied to the associated log at an upper end of the associated log that is opposite a downward end positioned at or adjacent the upward facing wedge.
Abstract:
A log splitter having an activation lever and a safety lever that defines a pawl configured to engage with a detent associated with the activation lever in an unactivated position so that the activation lever cannot be rotated unless the safety lever is first rotated out of a safety position to remove the pawl from the detent.
Abstract:
A log splitting apparatus having stripper plates for stripping logs from a blade member as a piston is retracted into a cylinder. In one arrangement, the stripper plates are removably securable to opposing sides of a log splitter frame of the apparatus to allow for replacement of the stripper plates with other stripper plates or other components (e.g., stroke reducing devices), use of multi-way (e.g., 4-way) wedge systems, and/or the like.

Abstract:
A log splitter is provided, wherein the log splitter includes a splitter housing, wherein the splitter housing defines a housing cavity, a splitter head, wherein the splitter head includes a splitter blade, a splitter butt plate and a splitter hydraulic cylinder, wherein the splitter head and splitter butt plate are configured to define a log cavity between the splitter blade and the splitter butt plate and wherein the splitter head is movably associated with the splitter housing and connected to the splitter hydraulic cylinder, such that the splitter head is movable along the length of the splitter housing.
Abstract:
A firewood processor with a tightenable saw chain, which processor comprises a frame arranged to support the firewood processor to a base, such as the ground, and a saw for sawing wood raw material in a transverse direction into an intermediate product of a desired length. The saw comprises a saw chain, a flange for guiding said saw chain and a sprocket, which is arranged to convey the driving force to said saw chain. The firewood processor further comprises a splitting section for splitting the intermediate product of a desired length in the longitudinal direction into a desired size, which splitting section comprises a splitting wedge and means for splitting the intermediate product of a desired length by means of the splitting wedge. In addition, the firewood processor comprises automatic means for tightening the saw chain of said saw and for maintaining the tightness.
Abstract:
A log splitter attachment for attaching to a machine such as an excavator or backhoe boom to facilitate splitting of large diameter logs into multiple triangular wedges includes a central portion and an attachment portion coupled to the central portion such that the central portion is designed for attachment to the boom arm of a machine such as a back hoe or excavator. A plurality of planar sections is coupled to the central portion. The planar sections are arranged to extend radially outward from the central portion. A plurality of distal wedge members is provided. Each distal splitting wedge member is coupled to a respective one of the plurality of planar sections. A central wedge splitting member has a plurality of radial wedge portions. The central wedge splitting member is coupled to a base of the central portion.
