    Abstract: A cylindrical member used as an electrophotographic photosensitive drum or a developing sleeve has a cylindrical surface with a high shape accuracy (straightness and roundness). In cutting the outer circumferential surface of a cylindrical work by cutting tools rotating around the work, clamp portions of a right work holder and a left work holder are inserted into the two ends of the work. The work is held by abutting these tapered surfaces against circular ridge portions formed in the inner edges of end faces of the work and pressing the work in the axial direction.

    Abstract: A pipe facing and grooving tool for providing a square face on the end of a length of pipe and an external annular groove to receive a pipe coupling element when coupling lengths of pipe together. The machine includes a motor driven tool carrier journalled on an axially expanding pipe clamping mandrel. Two separate tools on the tool carrier are provided for dressing the end of the pipe and/or removing a bevel from the end of the pipe and for cutting an annular groove of uniform depth in the outer surface of the pipe adjacent the dressed end.

    Abstract: A reel mount for use in a tape transport having mechanical means for retaining and aligning a supply reel thereon, which is operated by fluid pressure. The reel mount comprises a hub having a resilient band expandible through movement of a plurality of collet elements arranged on the hub. Application of subatmospheric fluid pressure to the hub forces the collet elements along an incline to expand the resilient band, and cause the band to grip a reel located on the hub, while a plurality of plungers simultaneously serve to locate the reel in alignment on the hub.
