    摘要: A process and device are disclosed for manufacturing a grid, in particular a pressed grid. The grid consists of a plurality of carrying bars (9) and of filling bars (5) that can be inserted into the carrying bars. Both the carrying bars (9) and the filling bars (5) are supplied by conveyors to a pressing station (3) having a holding device for the carrying bars and an actuating device for receiving and pressing the filling bars to be inserted. After the bars are pressed, the holding device is moved forward over a freely selectable distance and the actuating device is moved so that another filling bar is moved from a supply position to the working position. After all bars which form the grid are pressed, the grid is subjected to a finishing process.

    摘要: A method is provided for manufacturing a three dimensional frame structure that can be used as a core structure in a sandwich construction. Furthermore, a frame structure is provided for a sandwich construction, which frame structure has been manufactured in accordance with the method. In the method, a two dimensional lattice structure is made from bar-shaped linear semi finished products, in which structure the semi finished products intersect at defined points of intersection; the bar-shaped linear semi finished products are connected at the points of intersection and are softened by locally applying heat to the lattice structure in each case along three non-intersecting (imaginary) straight lines. In order to impart a three dimensional shape to the lattice structure a force (F) is introduced into the lattice structure along the middle one of the (imaginary) straight lines to which heat has been applied, wherein, as a result of deformation of the lattice structure, the introduced force F is deflected into pairs of tensile forces acting in the semi finished products, as a result of which the lattice structure is pulled into a third dimension, along the middle (imaginary) straight line to which heat has been applied.

    摘要: A connection assembly (5) for a grid structure suitable for use in a pallet container comprises first and second elongate elements (2, 3) connected to one another at an intersection (4). The first element (2) comprises a tube defining at least one receiving opening (6) through which the second element (3) is passed wherein the portion of the first element (2) defining the periphery of the receiving opening (6) protrudes inwards to define a collar (7) surrounding the second element (3). Typically, the inner dimension of the collar (7) is dimensioned with respect to an outer dimension of the second element (3) so as to provide a frictional fit of the two elements (2, 3). The provision of the collar (7) strengthens the intersections of the first and second element (2, 3) and enables a grid structure made from such connection assemblies (5) to withstand impacts and vibrations during use.
