Abstract:
A modular helmet is described herein. The module helmet includes an inner shell adapted to be positioned onto a user's head and an outer shell coupled to the inner shell. The outer shell is spaced a distance radially outward from the inner shell to define a climatic zone between the inner shell and the outer shell. A cooling assembly is positioned within the climatic zone between the inner shell and the outer shell. The cooling assembly includes a plurality of cooling packets that are coupled to the outer shell.
Abstract:
Panty underwear includes a pouch disposed above the crotch panel and between the leg openings. The pouch has a top opening opposite the wearer's vaginal opening, so that vaginal discharge flows to a sanitary napkin between the bottom of the pouch and the crotch panel. The pouch provides cooling to the wearer's labia and, in some embodiments, to her perineal area. The cooling is provided by either a single generally rectangular cooling pack, or two cooling packs each being rectangular or J-shaped. The sanitary napkin can be internal or external to the pouch. Some embodiments of the underwear are intended for single use. Other embodiments of the underwear are intended to be re-usable, in that the sanitary napkin can be replaced and/or the cooling pack(s) can be re-used. The cooling pack(s) can be sealed with one-time or reusable thermal material therein, or they can be resealable with replaceable thermal material.
Abstract:
A bra including a front with a right cup, a left cup, a right strap, and a left strap, at least one pocket in each of the right and left cups that are shaped and dimensioned to accept warming inserts, a back, and sides connecting the right cup to the back and the left cup to the back.
Abstract:
A device and method is taught for providing thermo therapeutic relief through the positioning of a heating element at a predetermined position in association with a garment to support and sustain the heat generated by the heating element in a designated area. The invention more particularly relates to a method and a device for treating menstrual cramps by application of thermo therapeutic relief to specific areas associated with a woman's abdomen. In addition a kit is taught for providing a particular type of undergarment and reusable heating pad for use therein, effective for relieving the discomfort of menstrual cramps.
Abstract:
A cooling device includes a tube having an interior formed by a first and second film welded together. The tube has a peelable heat seal connecting a portion of the first film with a portion of the second film. The peelable heat seal divides the interior into a first chamber and a second chamber separated from the first chamber. The interior of the first chamber includes one or more materials which have an endothermic heat of solution in water. The interior of the second chamber contains water. The peelable heat seal has an adhesive force that is overcome by an application of an external force to one of the chambers allowing the material in the first chamber and the water in the second chamber to mix.
Abstract:
A method of applying a cold pack to a wearer undergoing chemotherapy treatment using a sock structure. The sock structure comprises a sock body that includes a foot portion configured to covering the wearer's foot, a leg portion covering a portion of the wearer's ankle and leg, and a turned heel that provides an angular junction between the foot and leg portions. The sock structure comprises a pocket integral with the sock body and located along the bottom of the foot portion and the turned heel. The pocket is configured for receiving the cold pack and supporting the cold pack along the bottom of the foot portion and the turned heel, with the cold pack in heat transmitting relation with the sole and heel of a human foot located in the sock body.
Abstract:
A therapy garment is provided for providing temperature or pressure therapy to a user. The therapy garment may comprise a main body member, a pair of leg sections, and at least one pocket and may be adapted to be worn by the user so that the pockets align with the region of the user's body that is to receive therapy.
Abstract:
A thermal regulatory system to reduce swelling caused by trauma to a variety of tissues and limbs is provided. One or more substantially flexible, at least partially thermally conductive housing containing optionally activatable thermal regulatory medium may be coupled with one or more applicator, such as a splint, that is adapted to apply the medium housing to the tissue. Methods of therapeutically regulating tissue temperature are also provided.
Abstract:
The present invention generally relates to a reusable personal heating system including a sealed container filled with a supercooled supersaturated solution and an activator located in a fixed position within the container which triggers an exothermic crystallization process when depressed. The removable and reusable personal heating system fits into a garment worn under other clothing and is easily activated through other clothing. The present invention provides a personal heating system that allows the wearer to participate in outdoor activities in cold conditions while permitting ease of mobility and range of motion.
Abstract:
A garment for therapeutic comfort to women experiencing breast discomfort. The garment including an inner side having a first vertical side adjacent a second vertical side. A first layer is attached to the first vertical side and to the second vertical side such that each first layer is disposed over a breast region of the wearer. A first chamber for receiving hot or warm therapy is defined between each first layer and the inner side. A first opening to access the first chamber is defined between first and second ends of the first layer. A side opening in communication with the first chamber can further be disposed between the first layer and the inner side. A second layer is attached to each of the first layers such that each second layer is disposed over the nipple area of the wearer. A second chamber is defined between the first and second layers. A second opening to access the second chamber is defined between first and second ends of the second layer. A lower layer is attached to the inner side such that each lower layer is disposed over the wearer's abdominal area. A lower chamber is defined between the lower layer and inner side. A lower opening to access the lower chamber is defined between first and second ends of the lower layer.
