Abstract:
A cosmesis includes a thigh component and a shin component that fit over a prosthetic knee joint. The thigh component and shin component are pivotally joined along an axis of rotation coinciding with that of the prosthetic knee joint. The thigh component and shin component can include internal contours molded into their inside walls to seat the prosthetic knee joint securely therein. The knee ball region of the thigh component can be made relatively thicker to provide a protective cushion and allow the patient to kneel. Additionally, a floating knee cap can be fit over the knee ball area. The upper end of the thigh component can be made of sufficiently thin material to permit rolling onto itself.

Abstract:
An artificial leg has a ball and socket ankle joint, the socket of which has upper and lower portions. They are connected together and clamped over the ball by a turnbuckle ring. This provides an adjustable shin and foot connection which permits use of a rubber-encased ball of sufficient size, without taking up too much shape within the ankle region. Also disclosed is a movable patella member and a vertically jointed two part foam covering.
Abstract:
A modularized prosthesis leg cover quickly covers a prosthesis leg and does not affect bending or stretching motion of a knee joint part of the prosthesis leg, thus preventing damage to the knee joint part of the prosthesis leg. Thus, the modularized prosthesis leg cover includes a thigh module, which can be mounted to a thigh socket of the prosthesis leg, a lower leg module, which can be fastened to a calf pipe of the prosthesis leg, and a patella module, which can be rotatably assembled with the lower leg module. The prosthesis leg cover, which is formed by assembling the modules, is covered with a skin module, which is made of a stretchable fiber. The respective modules are provided as prefabricated modules. A method of manufacturing the prosthesis leg cover is also provided.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a modularized prosthesis leg cover and a method for manufacturing the prosthesis leg cover, which quickly covers a prosthesis leg and does not affect bending or stretching motion of a knee joint part of the prosthesis leg, thus preventing damage to the knee joint part of the prosthesis leg. Thus, the modularized prosthesis leg cover of the present invention includes a thigh module (10), which can be mounted to a thigh socket (2) of the prosthesis leg, a lower leg module (30), which can be fastened to a calf pipe (6) of the prosthesis leg, and a patella module (20), which can be rotatably assembled with the lower leg module (30). The prosthesis leg cover, which is formed by assembling the modules, is covered with a skin module, which is made of a stretchable fiber. The respective modules of the present invention are provided as prefabricated modules.
