    摘要: A bruxism sensor includes a diaphragm switch which provides an electrical output including a diaphragm separating a pressure side having a pressure side inlet and a suction side having a suction side inlet. An audible alarm having an electrical input is coupled to the electrical output. A first hose has one end is fluidically coupled to the pressure side inlet and a biting configured opposite end (biting end) for positioning between teeth of a user. Wherein upon a contraction of a mandible of the user, the biting end is squeezed which generates air pressure that is applied to the pressure side to generate a pressure level sufficient for activating the diaphragm switch, and while the diaphragm switch is activated, the audible alarm automatically sounds an alarm for alerting the user of contraction of their mandible.

    摘要: A system for the detection of bruxism includes an electronics housing configured to be worn on the face of a user. The system further includes a first and second sensor, located on a side of the electronics housing. The first and second sensors are secured firmly to the face of the user, positioned a distance apart from each other, and positioned to rest over a muscle of the face; the distance apart being such that the first and second sensors both rest on the muscle of the face. The system also includes a feedback generator, configured to provide feedback to the user when a clenching event occurs. The system also includes a microprocessor, configured to receive a plurality of inputs from the first and second sensors, determine when the clenching event occurs, and activate the feedback generator to provide feedback to the user upon an occurrence of the clenching event.

    摘要: An anti bruxism device for stopping or at least diminishing bruxism comprises a splint adapted to be secured to a tooth of a user, and a biofeedback system mounted on the splint. The biofeedback system includes a detector for detecting bruxism, and a stimulation device for stimulating the user responsive to detection of bruxism by the detector. The stimulation produced by the stimulation device causes the user to stop bruxating. Bruxism is a function that could damage teeth and molars, and may affect the neuro-muscular system in a negative way, and could cause, for example, headaches.

    摘要: Apparatus for producing an electrical stimulation signal adapted to be applied to a patient's jaw muscle, thereby causing the jaw to open and preventing bruxism. The apparatus includes electrodes positioned to sense an electromyographic (EMG) signal indicative of jaw muscle activity and jaw clenching. A control circuit produces a control signal when the EMG signal exceeds a threshold value indicative of a predetermined level of jaw muscle activity. Stimulator means produce the stimulation signal in the form of a pulse train when triggered by the control signal. The threshold value and intensity of the stimulation signal are adjustable.
