Abstract:
A sanitizing and washing system encourages the use of reusable food or beverage containers by utilizing a quick and compact system to sanitize and wash the containers prior to reuse. The doors of the pass-through chamber allow the customer to insert an unsanitized and unwashed container on the entry (“dirty”) side of the system, and the retail employee to remove the sanitized and washed container from the exit (“clean”) side of the system without having to touch any other surface (doors, knobs, handles, etc.) than the container itself. The system utilizes a UV light source to sanitize the exterior surfaces of the container, while a washing nozzle sprays cleaning fluid to wash and remove residue from the interior surfaces.
Abstract:
A dishwasher (1) for cleaning drinking vessels, wherein the dishwasher (1) has a treatment zone (3) and a conveyor apparatus (6) for conveying the items of washware (2) to be cleaned from an introduction region (4) of the dishwasher (1) through the treatment zone (3) to a removal region (5) of the dishwasher (1). The conveyor apparatus (6) is configured to convey a previously defined or definable group of items of washware (2) to be cleaned in batches from the introduction region (4) through the treatment zone (3) and then to feed the group of items of washware (2) as cleaned items of washware (2) to the removal region (5).
Abstract:
A dishwasher, a door assembly for the dishwasher and a method of drying the dishware in the dishwasher are provided. The dishwasher may include a tub portion adapted to hold dishware, a heating element proximate a bottom of the tub portion and configured to heat air inside the tub portion during a drying cycle, and a blower configured to direct the air and vaporized water into a duct having an inlet proximate the top of the tub portion. The heat causes the air to rise toward a top of the tub and collect vaporized water from the dishware. The duct is configured to receive the air and the vaporized water. The dishwasher includes a sensor configured to measure a humidity level. A control unit is in communication with the sensor and selectively actuates and de-actuates at least one of the heating element and the blower, based on the humidity level.
Abstract:
A drying system for a dishwasher including a passive vent assembly mounted to a top portion of the dishwasher. The passive vent assembly includes a passive vent structure having a series of air vents defined therein and through which drying air flows are drawn into the wash chamber of the dishwasher, a diffuser mounted over the air vents and including a series of fins for spreading the drying air flows across the wash chamber, and a moisture trap hood mounted over an upper surface of the passive vent structure.
Abstract:
A dishwasher for treating dishes according to at least one cycle of operation and having a tub at least partially defining a treating chamber and defining an access opening, a sprayer providing a spray of liquid into the treating chamber, a liquid recirculation system defining a recirculation flow path for recirculating the sprayed liquid from the treating chamber to the sprayer, and an air supply system having a conduit configured to function as an overflow conduit.

Abstract:
An apparatus and method for washing and drying objects includes a rotating washing fluid sprayer having several nozzles to direct washing fluid, e.g., water, at an object being washed in a chamber. A drying fluid is directed at the object in the chamber to dry the object. The drying fluid, e.g., air, is directed in a spiral pattern against the object to urge washing liquid away from the object to dry the object and to push the drying liquid away from edges of the object. The air may be directed at the object simultaneously with the water to increase the energy with which the water impinges on the object and to urge dirt from the object being washed.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a dishwasher (1) comprising a tub (2) wherein the items to be washed are placed and a door (3) providing access to the tub (2), and wherein formation of unpleasant odor in the tub (2) is prevented by way of air within the tub being circulated through an ion generator.
Abstract:
A dishwasher includes a cabinet having a wash chamber defined therein, a tub positioned within the wash chamber, a door coupled to the cabinet, and a fan positioned within the cabinet. An air conduit is positioned within the dishwasher and includes a conduit body configured to be mounted onto the door. The conduit body includes an air inlet and an air outlet, the air inlet is configured to be coupled in flow communication with the fan. The air conduit body is configured to channel air from the wash chamber through the conduit to an outside of the dishwasher, isolate the air within the conduit body from contacting the door, and provide a receptacle for condensed water other than a wash chamber tub.
Abstract:
Apparatus is provided which accomplishes the drying of wet cafeteria or the like trays without benefit of heat and with low energy consumption. Wet trays are presented to the apparatus and conveyed through it one-at-a-time, bottom side up, and in such a manner that the leading side edge of the wet tray is at an angle less than normal to the tray's direction of travel. The wet tray while passing through the apparatus is subjected, top and bottom, to high velocity air which strips the water from the tray, the water being then discharged from the system.
