    Abstract: A toothbrush assembly having toothbrush members with biodegradable portions wherein the toothbrush members are configured to be releasably secured to a holder. The holder of the present invention includes an interior volume and is configured to receive, store and dispense a dentifrice. The holder includes a lever member at the top thereof. The toothbrush members include a lower portion and an upper portion wherein the upper portion is releasably secured to the lower portion. The upper portion is manufactured from a biodegradable plastic. The lower portion includes at least one magnet wherein the at least one magnet facilitates mounting the toothbrush member to the holder as well as to a mounting plate wherein the mounting plate is secured to a desired vertical surface. The holder includes a lever member to facilitate dispensing of the dentifrice. The upper portion includes three contiguously formed sections.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a brush holder having a hollow, box-like upper structure with interior contours conformable to the shape of the ferrule and heel of a paintbrush. The lower structure of the brush holder comprises a hollow, primarily longitudinal staff, said staff affixed at its top end to the brush holder. The lower, open end of the staff comprises a circular opening with interior female threads. By use of an extension pole having compatible male threads at one end, a workman, after insertion of a paintbrush into said brush holder, may engage the threads of the brush holder with the threads of the extension pole until a firm and secure attachment is achieved. In this manner, there is provided a greater range of brush contact for applying paint to an otherwise hard-to-reach surface.

    Abstract: A power-brush apparatus has a housing, a brush rotatable on the housing about a brush axis and having bristles extending generally radially of the axis, and a drive that rotates the brush in a working direction about the axis and thereby orbits tips of the bristles about the axis. Thus when in use the brush is rotated in this working direction. A support immediately adjacent the housing carries a rigid grinding wheel having an abrasive outer surface. This wheel is biased radially against the bristle tips to sharpen and clean them while a drive relatively displaces the bristle tips and the grinding-wheel surface while the wheel is urged against the bristle tips such that the grinding wheel surface primarily engages rear sides of the bristle tips turned away from the working direction.

    Abstract: A directional coupler sensor is provided for measuring the moisture content of a substrate, such as hair. The sensor incorporates a high frequency directional coupler having a pair of generally parallel plates defining a coupling gap therebetween. A high frequency signal generator generates an electromagnetic field across the gap with the substrate placed across the coupling gap. The coupled power relates to the moisture content of the substrate. A pressure sensor is provided to ensure that the desired compactness of the substrate across the coupling gap is achieved to obtain accurate, reliable and consistent results.
