The faces may be “day” and “night”. The piece of jewelry may be a pendant on a necklace, an earring, a bracelet, or a ring. There may be a thickened portion of a trapezoidal shape at one of the two opposite ends of the bale to resist stresses and to prevent breakage of the pin.
