摘要： A buckle for a connector having a small simple structure and a favorable productivity, and a method for assembling the same. A buckle for connector of the present invention for supporting a tongue engageably/disengageably includes a base member, a latch member, an unlocking member, a latch spring, an ejector, an ejector spring, and cover members housing these members. The base member includes first and second plates. The ejector includes: two arms; a body section between the arms that includes a pushing/moving surface for the tongue to be pushed/moved by the tongue, a support section to support the latch member, and a pushing surface to be pushed by the ejector spring; and claws formed at ends of the arms and locked with an aperture at a terminal end of the base member, the terminal end being opposite to a starting end from which the tongue is inserted.

The buckle includes a latch member engageable with the tongue, a U-shaped base defining an opening in the direction of insertion of the tongue and supporting the latch member turnably, and a bridge secured to the lower end of the base and having engagement portions which when the tongue is in a state kept in engagement with the latch member, are kept in engagement with the tongue at two points. Owing to this structure, the tongue can be firmly held without play and the buckle can withstand large forces and moments applied thereto by way of the tongue.

摘要： The specification describes a push-button type seat belt buckle whose tongue releasing push-button, when mounted on a vehicle, faces toward the passenger and is located in a somewhat sunken position, thereby to facilitate the release of the tongue while avoiding accidental release thereof due to unintentional contact of the passenger to the push-button. The tongue defines in a preferred embodiment a latch hole on its longitudinal central axis, with which latch hole a latch member engages for holding the tongue in a buckle body. Since the area of contact between the tongue and latch member is rather large, it is possible to use a rather thin tongue which contributes to the weight reduction of the buckle.
