Abstract: In a telecommunication system comprising multiple switching nodes (10, 20, 30) having a respective local server (C1, C2, C3) and associated terminals (D1, D2, D3, D4) located within a network and a central DSS server (DSS) for controlling the telecommunication system by using a general switching protocol, the terminals (D1, D2, D3, D4) of a switching node (10, 20, 30) are controlled by the local server (C1, C2, C3) under a local protocol comprising control commands for node-internal call pickup. The pickup of a call directed from a third terminal (D4) to a first terminal (D3) assigned to a first switching node (10) through a second terminal (D1) assigned to another, second switching node (20) occurs across nodes by using the general switching protocol through transferring the control commands provided in the local protocol for call pickup to the general switching protocol and providing them across nodes through the central DSS server (DSS) to the multiple switching nodes (10, 20, 30) located within the network, and converting the registration of a terminal (D1, D2, D3, D4) for call pickup provided in the local protocol to the general switching protocol and forwarding it to the central DSS server.

Abstract: A docking station and a method for connecting a mobile communication device to an at least partially wire-based communication infrastructure are disclosed. The docking station has a cradle for the storage of the communication device. A detection device detects the presence of the communication device within a selected distance from the docking station and receives authentication information from the communication device. There is also an authentication device for validating the credentials of the communication terminal and for enabling communication with the communications infrastructure on the basis of authentication information. A first interface provides a first wireless communication link with the communication device and a second interface establishes a second wired communication link to the communication infrastructure. A transfer device can switch from the first communication link to the second communication link. A communication system containing the docking station is also disclosed.

Abstract: In a procedure for handling security settings of a mobile end device the operating conditions of the end device are determined. Then minimum security requirements are established according to the operating conditions by evaluating contextual data regarding the operating conditions of the end device. Next it is determined whether the security settings on the end device comply with at a least with the minimum security requirements. Access to applications is allowed or denied according to the security settings on the mobile end device. Should the end device not meet minimum security requirements the user may be prompted to change the security settings on the end device. The method may involve locating the end device and issuing of a warning in the end device does not meet minimum security settings.
