Abstract: An inspection tube of a borescope can include an actuable portion nearer a distal of the inspection tube than a proximal end of the tube. Actuable drive cables can extend a length of the inspection tube to transfer motion to the actuable portion. At a distal end of the inspection tube is an inspection head that can include a motion sensor configured to sense an orientation and a movement of the inspection head. At the proximal end of the inspection tube is a control unit. The control unit can receive a signal from the motion sensor. The signal can be indicative of an orientation and/or the movement of the inspection head. A fall condition can be determined to be occurring based on the signal. The actuable drive cables can then be actuated to move the inspection head to a protected position.

Abstract: A method of preserving context filter criteria includes receiving data characterizing selection of a first application of a plurality of applications associated with an industrial via a first tab of a web browser that includes a graphical user interface (GUI). The industrial enterprise includes a plurality of industrial assets. The method further includes generating a first context dataset associated with the first application based on a second context dataset associated with a second application. The first context dataset includes a first set of filter criteria. The second context dataset is selected based on a first tab identifier indicative of the first tab of the GUI. The method also includes providing the first context dataset to the first application. The method further includes providing a first operation summary in the graphical user interface of the first tab of the web browser. The first operation summary includes search results generated based on the first context dataset.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses are provided for examining a object under test. The apparatus can include a housing and a handle. The housing can include a sensing unit including a plurality of ultrasonic transducers, a circuit, a control unit, a display unit, and a communication interface. The circuit can include a memory, and a plurality of transceiver circuits coupled to the plurality of ultrasonic transducers. On receiving a triggering signal, the plurality of ultrasonic transducers emanates an ultrasonic beam to a object under test and can sense a reflected ultrasonic beam to generate a sensed signal. The control unit can process the received sensed signal to provide a processed data. The display unit can display the processed data. The communication interface can transmit the processed data to a monitoring device over a network. The handle has a frame configured to support the housing and allow the housing to rotate.

Abstract: A system and method for calibrating a computed tomography (CT) scanner including scanning a calibration apparatus with the CT scanner, and determining a first scan edge of a first calibration layer, a second scan edge of a second calibration layer, and a floating point of an opening from the scan. The method also includes determining a first scan dimension and second scan dimension measured in the longitudinal direction from the first scan edge to the floating point, and the second scan edge to the floating point, respectively. The method also includes determining a first scan overhang based on a difference between the first scan dimension and the second scan dimension and comparing the first scan overhang to the calibration overhang. The method also includes determining a first level of uncertainty for the CT scanner based on the comparing.

Abstract: Data characterizing a strain of a conduit is received from a strain measuring tool. Data characterizing a stress of the conduit is received from a stress measurement tool. A stress-strain state position on a provided stress-strain curve is determined based on the received data characterizing the strain and the received data characterizing the stress. The determined stress-strains state position is then provided.

Abstract: A computed tomography (CT) system including a scanning unit having an x-ray emitter, a detector arranged to receive x-rays emitted from the x-ray emitter during a scanning operation, and a manipulating unit arranged to rotate an object about a rotational axis and move the object through a plurality of positions along a path, defined by the rotational axis, in between the x-ray emitter and the detector. The CT system can also include a computing device, including a memory storing computer-executable instructions and at least one data processor. The processor is arranged to execute the instructions, which cause the processor to perform operations including: receiving, from the scanning unit, first data characterizing the path, and receiving, from the scanning unit, second data characterizing the one or more x-ray images of the object at at least one position of the plurality of positions, determining a compensation to be applied to the second data based on the first data, reconstructing an image of the object based on the first data, the second data, and the compensation, and providing the reconstructed image.

Abstract: A calibration method includes receiving data characterizing a plurality of acoustic signals reflected by a defect in a target object, and a first depth of the defect relative to a surface of the target object. A first acoustic signal and a second acoustic signal are detected by a detector at a first location and a second location, respectively, on the surface of the target object. The plurality of acoustic signal includes the first acoustic signal and the second acoustic signal. The method also includes determining an envelope function based on at least the first acoustic signal and the second acoustic signal. The method further includes identifying a target distance between the detector and the defect. The target distance is associated with a peak value of the envelop function. The method also includes calculating a detection angle based on the target distance and the first depth of the defect.

Abstract: An asset management system is provided and includes a memory and an event analyzer. The memory maintains event data and at least one cost. The event data characterizes events experienced by assets distributed among sites of a fleet. The event data include an asset location within an asset hierarchy of the fleet and event parameters corresponding to the event. Costs can be correlated to respective events. The analyzer generates a GUI displaying a first window hierarchically listing of assets organized by their hierarchical position within the fleet. The analyzer receives, via the GUI, a user selection of a hierarchical level within the hierarchical list, and identifies events associated with the selected hierarchical level. The analyzer updates the GUI to display a second window in response to receipt of the user selection. The second window lists the identified events, with corresponding event data costs.
