    摘要: The device seeks to improve the reliability of information and to increase recording capacity by controlling the recording mark to be recorded on the recording medium with high preciseness. To improve the conformity of a recording medium with a device that records, retrieves and erases information, a recording pulse train is generated by a test write data generating circuit 18 and a recording pulse forming circuit 15 and a recording mark is recorded on a recording medium 5 by a laser driver 14. Excessive power recording is reduced, an optimum recording power is determined and regular information recording and retrieving is carried out by detecting a test write data from a test write data detecting circuit 12 to which the retrieved signal from the recording medium 5 is input. Based upon analysis of the retrieved signal by a controller 19, and the range of next power scan is changed so as to avoid excessive power recording while making it possible to determine the optimum recording power.

    摘要: In a write control method on an optical recording, at least one shift amount selected from the defocus amount of a laser beam on a recording medium, the shift amount of a recording position on a recording track and the shift amount of laser power during recording is controlled such that the selected amount falls within a predetermined range. Subsequently, a trial signal is trially recorded at a plurality of trial zones on the recording medium by using a laser power value as a parameter. The recorded trial signal is read and a difference .DELTA.V between center levels of a highest density waveform and a lowest density waveform is detected. In connection with each trial zone, the laser power value when a reading trial signal which makes the difference .DELTA.V minimum is recorded is defined as an optimum recording power value. Regular data is recorded at a predetermined storage area on the recording medium by using an optimum laser power value determined in connection with a trial zone closest to the predetermined storage area.

    摘要: An optical information recording and reproducing apparatus that determines the quality of recorded information through a beta value from information on the amplitude of a reproduced signal and if the beta value is outside the permissible range, outputs information on error to a host computer. Immediately after the information is recorded the information is reproduced first and second kinds of information including information on the amplitude of the reproduced signal and performance information or error information obtained from a binarized signal of that reproduced signal, respectively are used to determine the quality of the reproduced signal. Recording power condition is changed based on the first kind of information and a recording pulse width condition or reproduction condition is changed based on the second kind of information to ensure the reliability of the information recorded.
