Abstract:
Binary data to which meta-data is to be appended, and meta-data to be appended to the binary data are loaded. The meta-data has an XML format. The loaded meta-data is connected after the loaded binary data. The data synthesized in this manner is output as a single file as a whole. In this file data, since header information remains the same as that before connection of the meta-data, binary data can be reproduced by an existing browser or the like. A binary file with meta-data can be discriminated by checking if data in a correct XML format is present at the end of data.
Abstract:
In conventional technique, a layout result is displayed on only one page, and a print result cannot be roughly observed by reduced display of all pages. For this reason, a specific image printed on a specific page cannot be overlooked, and a user must print the image while imaging an image result. When a user tries to change a layout method in the middle of a printing operation, the user must inconveniently restart the operation. In order to solve the problem, a printing apparatus for printing an image selected from images stored in a storage medium includes an image display unit for displaying the image in the storage medium as a list, a printing object selection unit for selecting an image to be printed with reference to the image display unit, a print medium selection unit for selecting medium on which the image is printed, and a print layout selection unit for selecting an arbitrary layout from layouts depending on the medium selected by the print medium selection unit.

Abstract:
Printing apparatus including a layout setting screen. The layout setting screen includes a layout selection area for displaying choices of a layout corresponding to a selected print media, a list display area for displaying a list of printing previews of a plurality of pages in accordance with the selected layout, and a preview display area for displaying the printing preview of the page selected in the list display area, on a larger scale than that in the list display area. If the choice of the layout in the layout selection area is changed while the layout setting screen is being displayed, the apparatus changes the display in each of the list display area and the preview display area to a display corresponding to the layout of the changed choice.
Abstract:
According to the present invention, in a borderless printing mode, a printing region is determined from an original image, a region expanded outward is determined for borderless printing based on the determined region. When the thus determined region exceeds the region of the original image, an image in the surplus portion is extrapolated based on an image at end portions of the original image, and printing data is formed based on the extrapolated image and image data of the expanded region.

Abstract:
Modified image data is composed by combining unprocessed original image data and modification information expressing a modification process applied to that original image data, enabling the original image data to be recreated from modified image data without deterioration in picture quality. In addition, recording modification information at each process step enables past modifications to be undone and redone at any time.

Abstract:
An image processing apparatus corrects input image data on the basis of the image data and foreign substance information including information associated with a position and a size of a foreign substance adhering near an image sensor in an image capturing apparatus which has captured the image data. The apparatus includes a correction unit which corrects the image data on the basis of the image data and the foreign substance information so as to reduce an influence of a shadow of the foreign substance cast in the image data, a uniformity determination unit which determines the uniformity of an image in a region surrounding the foreign substance in the image data, and a control unit which, when the uniformity determination unit determines that the uniformity is lower than a predetermined value, prevents the correction unit from correcting the image data.
